THREE CACC CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS RANKED IN EAST REGION POLL

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Cross Country teams are ranked in the East Region according to this week's United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll. Philadelphia University and Wilmington University are ranked fifth and 10th in the women's poll, while Felician College stands tenth for the men.

Philadelphia, behind race champion Sarah Simonetti, is coming off a dominant performance at the Philadelphia Metro Championship last Saturday. The Lady Rams placed five runners in the top 10 to accumulate only 27 points, 26 point ahead of runner-up Wilmington. Simonetti won the race by over a minute in 19:23, while freshman Taylor Falvey and senior Gabrielle Dei Tos finished third and fourth, respectively, in times of 20:44 and 20:57.

Wilmington placed second with 53 points, as two Wildcats finished in the top 10 at the Philadelphia Metro Championship. Sophomore Whitney Hora placed second in 20:29, while freshman Althea Davidson was sixth in 21:07.

Like the Philadelphia women, the Felician men placed five runners in the to 10 to win the Philadelphia Metro Championship with 25 points. Junior Rob Albano led the Golden Falcons to the title by winning the race by 48 seconds in an 8K time of 26:50. He has now won the event three straight times. Philadelphia was next with 45 points and Wilmington finished third with 82 points.

Junior Taylor Trumbetti and senior James Vander Wiele finished in third and fourth place for Felician, respectively, with times of 27:42 and 28:20.
