NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 25, 2011) – Three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) cross country teams are ranked according to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II Preseason Poll. Philadelphia University and Wilmington University are ranked in the women's East Region poll, while Felician College is included in the men's rankings.

The Philadelphia women stand sixth in the region and have won three straight CACC  Championships. The Rams return their top five runners from last season, including 2010 CACC Runner of the Year, senior Sarah Simonetti. Simonetti placed ninth at the NCAA East Regional in Boston to claim All-Region honors. As a team, Philadelphia placed sixth at the NCAA Regional. Angelica DiNucci also claimed All-Conference and All-Region honors last season, placing fourth at the conference meet and 12th at the regional.

Wilmington is ranked 10th in the women's East Region poll. The Lady Wildcats finished last season ranked 11th in the region and placed third at the CACC Championship.  The squad will be led by All-CACC performers, Danielle Riley and Whitney Hora. Riley crossed in seventh place at last season's conference championship, with Hora close behind in ninth.

The Felician men claimed the 2010 CACC Championship, and earned a final regional ranking of No. 10 a year ago. Four All-Conference performers return from that squad: senior James Vander Wiele and juniors Rob Albano, Tim Kicha and Taylor Trumbetti.  Albano, Vander Wiele and Trumbetti finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively, at last year's conference championship.  Felician has won eight CACC championships in its 11-year history.
