2009 CACC Cross Country Weekly Award Winners

Sept. 8

Male Runner and Rookie of the Week: Rob Albano, Felician (Fr., Pompton Plains, NJ) - Made an outstanding collegiate debut at the Delaware Valley Invitational. Finished in second place in a 8k time of 27:32 to lead the Golden Falcons to the team championship in a 17-team field.

Female Runner of the Week: Danielle Burcham, Wilmington (Sr., Bel Air, MD) - Placed 17th at the UMES Lid-Lifter meet, finishing the 5k course in 19:55. Led the Wildcats to a fourth-place finish as a team.

Female Rookie of the Week: Justine Berger, Georgian Court (Fr., Middletown, NJ) - Led Georgian Court at the Monmouth Kickoff Invitational by placing 21st in a time of 16:17.15 on the 4k course.

Sept. 14

Male Runner of the Week: Shawn D'Andrea, Philadelphia (Sr., Blackwood, NJ) - Finished in first place at the Wilmington Invitational in an 8k time of 27:38.24. Led the Rams to a second place finish, just one point behind the winner, Wilmington.

Male Rookie of the Week: Rob Albano, Felician (Fr., Pompton Plains, NJ) - Placed ninth out of 173 entrants at the Fordham University Fiasco, running against numerous Division I schools. He finished the 8k race in 27:33.17.

Female Runner of the Week: Sarah Simonetti, Philadelphia (So., Perkasie, PA) - Won the women's race at the Wilmington Invitational, winning the 5k race in 20:27.83. She led the Lady Rams to a team championship.

Female Rookie of the Week: Justine Berger, Georgian Court (Fr., Middletown, NJ) - Finished 36th at the Fordham Fiasco event with a 5k time of 19:43.34 in leading GCU to a 10th place finish.

Sept. 21

Male Runner and Rookie of the Week: Rob Albano, Felician (Fr., Pompton Plains, NJ) - Broke the Felician school record for fastest 8,000 meter time at the NYIT Invitational, crossing in 25:54 to lead the Golden Falcons to a second place finish. He placed fourth out of 160 entrants.

Female Runner of the Week: Sarah Simonetti, Philadelphia (So., Perkasie, PA) - Was the individual champion among Division II competition at the Delaware Invitational. Clocked a 19:39.43 5k time in leading the Lady Rams to a first place finish as a team.

Female Rookie of the Week: Justine Berger, Georgian Court (Fr., Middletown, NJ) - Was the second Division II finisher at the Delaware Invitational, crossing with a 5k time of 19:55.03.

Sept. 28

Male Runner of the Week: Rob Albano, Felician (Fr., Pompton Plains, NJ) - Was the individual champion at the Philadelphia Metro Championships, crossing the finish line in 26:21.83 on the Belmont Plateau 8k course. Won the race by 13 seconds to lead FC to a second place finish.

Male Rookie of the Week: Bill Steele, Wilmington (Fr., Conowingo, MD) - Paced third at the Salisbury Invitational, crossing in 25:47 to lead the Wildcats to a second place finish.

Female Runner of the Week: Sarah Simonetti, Philadelphia (So., Perkasie, PA) - Won the Philadelphia Metro Championship with a 5k time of 19:26.68, which was 28 seconds faster than her nearest competitor. She led the Lady Rams to a team championship.

Female Rookie of the Week: Justine Berger, Georgian Court (Fr., Middletown, NJ) - Was the third finisher among CACC runners at the Philadelphia Metro Championship, placing fourth in 20:00.90. She led GCU to a second place finish.
