2008 CACC Cross Country Weekly Award Winners September 2 Male Runner of the Week: Nick Willey, USP (Sr., Clifton Park, NY) - Placed ninth at the 18-team Delaware Valley Invitational with a time of 28:24.77. Was the top CACC finisher at the event. Male Rookie of the Week: Owen Ward, Chestnut Hill (Fr., Croydon, PA) - Placed 17th at the Delaware Valley Invitational with a time of 29:24.26. Was the top finisher for the Griffins. Female Runner of the Week: Julienne Reilly, Georgian Court (Sr., Wall, NJ) - Placed 14th at the Delaware Valley Invitational with a time of 25:51.74. GCU placed fourth as a team. Female Rookie of the Week: Sarah Simonetti, Philadelphia (Fr., Perkasie, PA) - Took third overall at the Haverford Time Trials, crossing in 18:35. The time set a school record at the meet. September 8 Male Runner of the Week: Rodney Rosario, Wilmington (Fr., Wilmington, DE) - Was the first finisher who was not a US Naval Academy runner at the Ursinus Invitational. He crossed in 8th place in 29:26 as Wilmington finished third as a team. Male Rookie of the Week: Owen Ward, Chestnut Hill (Fr., Croydon, PA) - Ward finished 14th at the Ursinus Invitational with a time of 30:01. He led Chestnut Hill to a fifth place showing as its top runner. Female Runner of the Week: Sharon Fetters, Nyack (So., Levitown, NJ) - Placed 15th at the Golden Knights Joust hosted by Saint Rose, crossing the line in 20:23. She led Nyack to an eighth place finish as a team. Female Rookie of the Week: Amanda Cavallo, Georgian Court (Fr., Bayville, NJ) - Finished in 130th place at the Fordham Fiasco and Follies meet in a time of 22:09.58. She was the top runner for the Lions. September 15 Male Runner of the Week: Shawn D'Andrea, Philadelphia (Jr., Blackwood, NJ) - Was the individual champion at the Wilmington University Invitational, crossing the finish line in 28:28.19. He led the Rams to a first place finish as a team. Male Rookie of the Week: Owen Ward, Chestnut Hill (Fr., Croydon, PA) - finished in 12th place at the Wilmington Invitational by completing the course in 30:50.23. He ran the seventh-best time among CACC runners at the event. Female Runner and Rookie of the Week: Sarah Simonetti, Philadelphia (Fr., Perkasie, PA) - Placed second overall with a time of 20:28.02 at the Wilmington Invitational, leading the Lady Rams to a second place finish. She was the first finisher among CACC runners by 26 seconds. September 22 Male Runner of the Week: Shawn D'Andrea, Philadelphia (Jr., Blackwood, NJ) - Placed third at the Philadelphia Metro Championships and was the first CACC finisher at the event, crossing in 26:21.95. He led the Rams to the team championship. Male Rookie of the Week: Rodney Rosario, Wilmington (Fr., Wilmington, DE) - Placed fourth at the Philadelphia Metro Meet with a time of 27:00.13. He was the second runner from a CACC school to cross the finish line. He led the Wildcats to a third-place finish. Female Runner and Rookie of the Week: Sarah Simonetti, Philadelphia (Fr., Perkasie, PA) - Was the individual champion at the Philadelphia Metro Championship, completing the course in 19:44.31. She led the Lady Rams to the team title. September 29 Male Runner of the Week: Shawn D'Andrea, Philadelphia (Jr., Blackwood, NJ) - Won the individual title at the Belmont Classic. He finished the course in 26:38.90 in leading the Rams to a second-place finish. Male Rookie of the Week: James Vander Wiele, Felician (Fr., Pequannock, NJ) - Led Felician to the team championship at the Belmont Classic by finishing third overall in a time of 26:58.83. He was the second runner from a CACC institution to finish. Female Runner of the Week: Julienne Reilly, Georgian Court (Sr., Wall, NJ) - Placed second at the NJAIAW Meet to lead the Lions to a first-place finish. She crossed the finish line in a 6k time of 23:46.33. Female Rookie of the Week: Sarah Simonetti, Philadelphia (Fr., Perkasie, PA) - Finished in third place at the Belmont Classic in a time of 19:42.92. October 6 Male Runner of the Week: Shawn D'Andrea, Philadelphia (Jr., Blackwood, NJ) - Was the individual champion at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational, running the 8k course in 27:33.30. He led the Rams to a tie for first place. Male Rookie of the Week: James Vander Wiele, Felician (Fr., Pequannock, NJ) - Led Felician at the Paul Short Invitational, placing 20th out of 270 finishers in a time of 26:26. Female Runner of the Week: Sharon Fetters, Nyack (So., Levitown, NJ) - Was the first CACC finisher at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational, crossing in third place in a 5k time of 20:15.90. Female Rookie of the Week: Gabrielle Dei Tos, Philadelphia (Fr., Freeland, PA) - Finished in fifth place and was the first CACC newcomer to cross the line at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational. She ran the 5k course in 20:45.20 in leading the Lady Rams to the team title. October 13 Male Runner of the Week: Shawn D'Andrea, Philadelphia (Jr., Blackwood, NJ) - Placed second at the Cabrini College Invitational by running an 8k time of 26:28.90. He led the Rams to a fourth-place finish. Male Rookie of the Week: Rodney Rosario, Wilmington (Fr., Wilmington, DE) - Finished in third place at the Cabrini Invitational, pacing the course in 26:38.40. Was the second CACC runner to finish the event. Female Runner of the Week: Danielle Burcham, Wilmington (Jr., Bel Aire, MD) - Was the first CACC finisher at the Cabrini Invitational, crossing in third place in 20:00.98. Female Rookie of the Week: Meghan Corless, Felician (Fr., Middletown, NJ) - Was the first CACC newcomer to finish at the Cabrini Invitational, placing eighth in 20:32.67. She was the fifth CACC runner overall to finish. October 20 Male Runner of the Week: Soufiane Sadikina, Goldey-Beacom (Sr., Morocco) - Won the Larry Simmons 5k Invitational at Cheyney University with a time of 18:18.32. Male Rookie of the Week: Jeff Kinkaid, Holy Family (Fr., Philadelphia, PA) - Finished in third place at the Larry Simmons Invitational with a time of 19:23.57. Female Runner of the Week: Joleen Butterfield, Nyack (Sr., Candor, NY) - Ran a 5k time of 20:15 to place 117th at the Albany Invitational over the weekend. Female Rookie of the Week: Jen Schrank, Holy Family (Fr., Cherry Hill, NJ) - Finished in second place at the Larry Simmons Invitational, crossing in a time of 24:29.56. October 27 Male Runner of the Week: Shawn D'Andrea, Philadelphia (Jr., Blackwood, NJ) - Was the first CACC runner to finish at the NCAA Division II East Regional, crossing the finish line in 17th place in a 10k time of 32:25.20. Male Rookie of the Week: James Vander Wiele, Felician (Fr., Pequannock, NJ) - Was the first CACC rookie to cross the finish line at the East Regional, clocking a time of 32:47.80, which was good for 22nd place. Female Co-Runners of the Week: Sarah Simonetti, Philadelphia (Fr., Perkasie, PA) and Danielle Burcham, Wilmington (Jr., Bel Aire, MD) - Became the first two CACC runners to ever earn All-Region honors at Sunday's East Regional in Boston. They finished 13th and 14th, respectively, and were seperated by less than a second. Simonetti ran a time of 23:43.60 and Burcham was right behind her with a 23:43.90 performance.
