RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshmen Meghan Corless of Middletown and Alyssa Philhower of Clifton have committed to the women’s cross-country team, head coach John Brennan announced today. Corless signed a national letter of intent last spring, while Philhower recently inked an athletic financial aid agreement.

Corless attained first-team all-state status as a senior at Mater Dei High of Middletown. She helped the Seraphs to three consecutive Shore B Central championships, as well as three New Jersey Catholic Track Conference team crowns. She was also a middle-distance runner and hurdler for the track & field team. Corless expects to major in accounting at Felician.

Philhower made first-team all-league and first-team all-county for Clifton High, where she also played lacrosse. In 2004, she was named her team’s “Fastest Varsity Freshman.” She intends to study medical sonography.

The Golden Falcons, an NCAA Division II program, have finished second in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in each of the last three years. They will be seeking their first CACC crown.
