D'ANDREA AND FETTERS GARNER CROSS COUNTRY WEEKLY ACCOLADES

NEW HAVEN, CT - Philadelphia University's Shawn D'Andrea and Nyack College's Sharon Fetters have garnered Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Cross Country Runner of the Week accolades for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 5. Felician College's James Vander Wiele and Philadelphia's Gabrielle Dei Tos were named Male and Female Rookie of the Week.

D'Andrea, a junior from Blackwood, NJ, was the individual champion at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational, running the 8k course in 27:33.30. He led the Rams to a tie for first place. D'Andrea has been named the CACC Runner of the Week for four consecutive weeks.

Fetters, a sophomore from Levitown, NJ, was the first CACC finisher at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational, crossing in third place in a 5k time of 20:15.90. Fetters has been tabbed the Female Runner of the Week twice this season.

Vander Wiele, a freshman from Pequannock, NJ, led Felician at the Paul Short Invitational, placing 20th out of 270 finishers in a time of 26:26. He was also named the Male Rookie of the Week last week.

Dei Tos, a freshman from Freeland, PA, finished in fifth place and was the first CACC newcomer to cross the line at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational. She ran the 5k course in 20:45.20 in leading the Lady Rams to the team title.

CACC Notes

Felician - Felician attained the first regional ranking in program history, being named eight in the East by the USTFCCCA last Tuesday. The Golden Falcons then finished ahead of four other regionally-ranked teams at the Lehigh Paul Short Run on Friday.

Georgian Court - The Lions have finished in the Top-3 in each of their last four meets.

Philadelphia - Shawn D'Andrea won his fourth meet of the year (of five) pacing to a 27:32 8K title at the Goldey-Beacom Invitational over the weekend to lead the men to a tie for first place. Strong performances were given by Kirkand David Snyder. Next week the Rams will compete at the Cabrini Invitational, the women start at 12:0o p.m., men at 12:35 p.m.

The #10 USTFCCCA eastern region Lady Rams put on a strong performance, running away with the Goldey-Beacom title this weekend without their #1 runner Sarah Simonetti. Three runners finished in the top ten, including rookie Gabrielle Dei Tos who finished fifth, and sophomore Kaitlin O'Leary (8th) and Faith Anderson (9th).
