2007 CACC Cross Country Weekly Award Winners

September 4

Male Co-Runners of the Week: Matt Willard, USP (So., Broomall, PA) and Joe Debus, Wilmington (So., Middletown, DE) - Willard and Debus both ran identical 8K times of 28:04 at different invitationals last weekend. Willard placed 6th at the Delaware Valley Invitational and Debus crossed the line in 27th place at the Salisbury Seagull Opener.

Male Rookie of the Week: Paul Riggio, Wilmington (Fr., Gaithersburg, MD) - Placed 38th at the Salisbury Seagull Opener with a time of 28:38 and was the second runner for the Wildcats.

Female Runner and Rookie of the Week: Rory Kauffman, Wilmington (Fr., Wilmington, DE) - Set a school record at the Salisbury Seagull Opener by running a 6K time of 23:10 to place fourth. Was Wilmington's top runner at the event.

September 10

Male Runner of the Week: Matt Willard, USP (So., Broomall, PA) - Willard ran an 8K time of 28:48:66 to place 15th at the Kutztown Maroon and Gold Invitational on Saturday. He led USP to a fourth-place finish.

Male Rookie of the Week: Marty Farrell, USP (Fr., Drexel Hill, PA) - Farrell placed 23rd at the Kutztown Maroon and Gold Invitational on Saturday with a time of 29:33.63. He was the third runner for the Devils.

Female Runner of the Week: Joy Aifuwa, USP (Sr., Edison, NJ) - Aifuwa led USP at the Kutztown Maroon and Gold Invitational with a fourth-place finish, crossing the line in 24:54.08 on the 6K course.

Female Rookie of the Week: Rory Kauffman, Wilmington (Fr., Wilmington, DE) - Kauffmann was the top overall finisher at the Keystone Invitational with a course-record time of 26:02 on the 6K course. She led the Wildcats to a first-place finish.

September 17

Male Runner of the Week: Matt Willard, USP (So., Broomall, PA) - Led USP to a first-place finish at the Delaware Invitational. He placed second overall among Division II and III runners with an 8k time of 27:37.

Male Rookie of the Week: Jay Rodgers, Felician (Fr., Westmont, NJ) - Completed the 8k course in 28:08 at the NYU Invitational to place 50th among over 230 runners.

Female Runner of the Week: Rory Kauffman, Wilmington (Fr., Wilmington, DE) - Was the individual champion among Divsion II and III runners at the Delaware Invitational with a 6k time of 24:20.

Female Rookie of the Week: Heather Miara, Georgian Court (Fr., Sayreville, NJ) - Was the top overall finisher at the Cedar Crest Invitational with a 5k time of 19:51.

September 24

Male Runner of the Week: Paul Chegwidden, Felician (Sr., Hamburg, NJ) - Led Felician to a first place finish at the Philadelphia Metro Championships by winning the race with an 8k time of 27:03. He won the race by 29 seconds in his first action this fall.

Male Rookie of the Week: Brenden Krewer, Felician (Fr., Farmingdale, NJ) - Was the first CACC male rookie finisher at the Philadelphia Metro Championship, placing 10th in 28:32.

Female Runner of the Week: Heather Miara, Georgian Court (Fr., Sayreville, NJ) - Was the top overall female finisher at the Philadelphia Metro Championship with a 19:37.73 5k clocking. She led Georgian Court to the team championship.

Female Rookie of the Week: Rory Kauffman, Wilmington (Fr., Wilmington, DE) - Ran a course-record time of 20:07 at the Wilmington Invitational, placing first and leading the Wildcats to a first place showing.

October 1

Male Runner of the Week: Joe Debus, Wilmington (So., Middletown, DE) - Won the Belmont Classic on Saturday with a time of 27:29, winning by 11 seconds. He led the Wildcats to a sixth-place finish.

Male Rookie of the Week: Jay Rodgers, Felician (Fr., Westmont, NJ) - Ran a 5.2-mile time of 29:17 at the Harry Groves Invitational at Penn State against mainly Division I competition. Placed 50th and was the third runner for Felician.

Female Runner of the Week: Joy Aifuwa, USP (Sr., Edison, NJ) - Was the individual champion at the Belmont Classic with a 5k time of 19:40.23, winning by 11 seconds.

Female Rookie of the Week: Heather Miara, Georgian Court (Fr., Sayreville, NJ) - Took home an individual victory at the NJAIAW Championships by almost 40 seconds with a 23:40.14 6k time.

October 8

Male Runner of the Week: Mike Burghoffer, Felician (Sr., Stockholm, NJ) - Ran an 8k time of 28:55 at the Monmouth Invitational to place 17th against mainly Division I competition.

Male Rookie of the Week: Will Shoemaker, Chestnut Hill (Fr., Philadelphia, PA) - Set a school record for the second time this year with a 28:09.97 clocking at the Dickinson Invitational.

Female Runner of the Week: Amanda Scibetta, Jr., Middletown, NJ) -Placed eighth out of 62 runners at the Monmouth Invitational with a career-best time of 20:20. She led Felician to a third-place finish.

Female Rookie of the Week: Toni Fowler, Felician (Fr., Mount Holly, NJ) - Ran a time of 20:20 at the Monmouth Invitational to place ninth, and was second among Golden Falcon runners.

October 15

Male Runner of the Week: Nick Willey, USP (Jr., Clifton Park, NY) -Placed sixth at the Cabrini Invitational at Belmont Plateau with an 8k time of 27:47.91. He led USP to a third place finish.

Male Rookie of the Week: Jay Rodgers, Felician (Fr., Westmont, NJ) - Finished in seventh place at the Cabrini Invitational and was the second CACC finisher in the event. He ran a time of 27:49.61.

Female Runner of the Week: Heather Miara, Georgian Court (Fr., Sayreville, NJ) - Was the individual champion at the Cabrini Invitational with a 5k time of 19:26.34. She led Georgian Court to a second place finish.

Female Rookie of the Week: Rory Kauffman, Wilmington (Fr., Wilmington, DE) - Placed third at the Cabrini Invitational, crossing the line in 19:35.68. She led Wilmington to a fourth-place finish.

October 22

Male Runner of the Week: Paul Chegwidden, Felician (Sr., Hamburg, NJ) - Was the Individual Champion at the 2007 CACC Championship. Set a meet record at Belmont Plateau with an 8k time of 26:34.88, almost 55 seconds faster than his nearest competitor. With Chegwidden leading the way, Felician scored 22 points to win the event.

Male Rookie of the Week: Jay Rodgers, Felician (Fr., Westmont, NJ) - Placed third overall and was the first rookie finisher at the CACC Men's Championship. He ran a 5k time of 27:38.21.

Female Runner and Rookie of the Week: Heather Miara, Georgian Court (Fr., Sayreville, NJ) - Won the CACC Female Individual Championship on Saturday in a meet-record time of 19:23.29 on the 5k Belmont Plateau course. She led Georgian Court to the Team Championship.

November 5

Male Runner of the Week: Paul Chegwidden, Felician (Sr., Hamburg, NJ) - Was the top CACC finisher at the NCAA East Regional Championships at Lock Haven University, placing 38th in a 10k time of 32:55.

Male Rookie of the Week: Jay Rodgers, Felician (Fr., Westmont, NJ) - Was the top CACC rookie to finish at the NCAA East Regionals, crossing in 79th place in 34:11.

Female Runner and Rookie of the Week: Heather Miara, Georgian Court (Fr., Sayreville, NJ) - Was the top CACC finisher at the NCAA East Regional Championship, placing 35th in a 6k time of 22:55.
