CHEGWIDDEN AND MIARA GARNER CROSS COUNTRY WEEKLY AWARDS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Paul Chegwidden of Felician College and Heather Miara of Georgian Court University have garnered Cross Country Runner of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 4. Miara, a freshman, was also named the female Rookie of the Week. Felician freshman Jay Rodgers was the male Rookie of the Week.

Chegwidden, a senior from Hamburg, NJ, was the top CACC finisher at the NCAA East Regional Championships at Lock Haven University, placing 38th in a 10k time of 32:55. Chegwidden was named Runner of the Week three times this season.

Miara, a freshman from Sayreville, NJ, was the top CACC finisher at the NCAA East Regional Championship, placing 35th in a 6k time of 22:55. Miara was named CACC Runner of the Week four times this season and Rookie of the Week on four occasions.

Rodgers, who hails from Westmont, NJ, was the top CACC rookie to finish at the NCAA East Regionals, crossing in 79th place in 34:11. Rodgers was named Rookie of the Week six times in 2007.

Honorable Mention

Shaun D'Andrea, Philadelphia (So., Blackwood, NJ) - Finished in 50th place at the NCAA East Regionals, running a time of 33:29.

Danielle Burcham, So., Wilmington) - Placed 46th at the NCAA East Regionals, crossing in a time of 23:18.

CACC Notes

USP - Women: Joy Aifuwa's 6K time of 23:29 is the fastest 6K in school history. All seven women's runners recorded career best times for the 6K race at Lock Haven. Men: Five of USP's seven runners competing were racing in their first ever 10K cross country race. USP's two upperclass runners recorded career best times in Saturday's race. The Devils 22nd place finish was their best ever in three trips to the NCAA East Regional.
