FIORVANTI GARNERS SECOND STRAIGHT CACC PLAYER OF WEEK ACCOLADE

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Michelle Fiorvanti has garnered Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Player of the Week accolades for the second consecutive week. Sidney Chuktunarod of Chestnut Hill College was named Rookie of the Week.

Fiorvanti, a 5-9 junior outside hitter from Commack, N.Y., led Dominican to a 3-0 week with averages of 3.91 kills at a .257 percentage, and 3.09 digs per-set. She posted 20 kills and 20 digs in a setback to Wilmington and added 12 kills and 11 digs in a sweep over Chestnut Hill.

Chuktunarod, a 5-5 freshman setter from San Francisco, Cal., provided 8.42 assists, 2.17 digs and 0.92 kills per-set in a 2-1 week. She recorded 40 assists, nine digs and five kills in a victory over Felician and contributed 35 assists and 11 digs in a 3-2 win against Goldey-Beacom.

Honorable Mention
Alex DePalma, Chestnut Hill (So., OH, 5-4, Shillington, PA) - Posted 3.50 kills and 3.42 digs per-set in a 2-1 week.

Susan McDonough, Caldwell (Jr., OH, 5-9, Saline, MI) - Averaged 3.18 kills, 4.18 digs and 0.55 service aces per-set in a 3-0 week.

Kelly Reynolds, Post (Sr., OH, Stamford, CT) - Averaged 3.70 kills at a .269 percentage in a 1-2 week for the Eagles.

Hillary Hoffman, Concordia (So., S/OH, E. Meadow, NY) - Recorded 7.9 assists and 2.1 digs per-set for the Clippers last week.

Brittany Olson, Philadelphia (Jr., L/OH, Sycamore, IL) - Totaled 45 kills in four matches last week and averaged 2.27 digs per-set. 

Team Notes
Bloomfield - The Lady Deacons went 1-1 for the week, topping Post University in a 3-0 home sweep to move to within a half-game of the fourth and final playoff spot in the CACC North Division.  Junior Da’Cheray Thomas (Newark, N.J.) led the offensive effort with nine kills in the contest, while Dominic Spivey (Newark, N.J.), Clodesh Marie Montano (Carolina, P.R.) and Chereese Sheen (Queens, N.Y.) totaled eight kills apiece to complete the balanced attack.  Bloomfield totaled seven blocks on the night, with Montano and Sheen leading the way with two apiece.  Junior setter Allison Hart (Pagosa Springs, Co.) keyed the offense with 27 assists, whlile Gabriella Betoni (Jaragua, Brazil) led the defense with eight digs.  Thomas led the Lady Deacons in kills in each of the team’s contests this week, picking up seven against Holy Family Saturday afternoon.

Caldwell - The Cougars won all three of their matches last week, defeating Nyack at home on Tuesday and beating Philadelphia and Southern Connecticut in a tri-match on Saturday in Philadelphia. Caldwell’s 3-0 sweep of Nyack, behind nine kills from junior Susan McDonough, kept the Cougars unbeaten at home against CACC opponents this season. McDonough also had a team-high 15 kills against Philadelphia and 11 versus SCSU. Junior libero Maddy Amon racked up 37 digs in the win over Philadelphia and averaged 6.91 digs per set for the week. Caldwell hosts Dominican on Tuesday and Goldey-Beacom on Saturday in a pair of CACC matches.

Concordia - Concordia went 2-1 this week with wins over Felician and USciences. This week the Clippers will host Bloomfield on Tuesday and Post on Thursday. On Saturday, Concordia will travel to Holy Family for a 12pm match.   

Felician - Junior OH Jenna Matesic has moved into second place on Felician’s all-time kills list. Her 664 career kills trail only the 813 of former teammate Amber Doran (2007-10).  Senior S/Opp Megan Delamater has become the first player in Golden Falcon history with 100 career service aces and the third to reach 100 career blocks.

Georgian Court - The Lions take the court four times this week as the Lions host Nyack (Monday), Holy Family (Tuesday) and Wilmington (Thursday) before traveling to Bloomfield Saturday afternoon.

Philadelphia - A 1-3 record was the result of four matches on the week for the Rams.  This week the squad faces Chestnut Hill College (10/18) at 7 p.m. before hosting Philadelphia Biblical University (10/20) also at 7 p.m.

Post - Senior setter Taylor Doyle is now only one assist away from 3,000 in her career.  This week, the Eagles begin a four game road trip when they travel to Nyack, Concordia, and Chestnut Hill.
