10-1 in the CACC and 14-4 overall. Juniors Amber Mosher and Susan
McDonough each had eight kills in the win, with Mosher hitting
.364. Mosher led Caldwell offensively in the other two matches last
week, tallying 19 kills in a loss at Dominican on Tuesday and 12
kills in a defeat to NYIT on Friday. The Cougars host Nyack on
Tuesday before playing a tri-match against Philadelphia and
Southern Connecticut State in Philadelphia on Saturday.
Concordia - Concordia went 0-2 this week with losses to Dominican
(NY) and Philadelphia U. This week the Clippers will travel to
Felician and Dominican (NY). On Saturday, Concordia will host
USciences at 6pm in the Meyer Athletic Center.
Felician - Senior S/Opp Megan Delamater has become the fifth player
in program history to reach 100 career matches played. Felician hit
a season-best .172 in Saturday’s road loss to Wilmington. In
that match, freshman OH Anni Polscher registered 17 kills, the most
by any Golden Falcon in a match in 2011.
Georgian Court - The Lions ended their losing streak at six with
Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Post. Tatiana Villariny collected
24 kills in last Monday’s 3-0 loss to Kutztown making her the
first GCU player to collect 20+ kills since Stephanie Rivera when
she collected 20 at Wilmington University last October 29th. GCU
will play two CACC road matches this week (10/11 @ Goldey-Beacom
and 10/13 @ University of the Sciences).
Goldey-Beacom - Junior Monica Dempsey and senior Roni Shaner rank
1st and 5th, respectively, in the conference in service aces
per-set. Dempsey also ranks sixth in the league in assists.
Freshman Emily Shustack now ranks fourth in league in blocks. The
Lightning have already doubled their conference win mark of last
year with four, and surpassed last year’s overall win total
with nine. Saturday’s victory over Bloomfield was the
Lightning’s first win over Bloomfield in the last five tries,
dating back to Sept. 16, 2006. GBC remains just one match back of
fourth-place Georgian Court (5-5) in the CACC South Division
standings. The Lightning host the Lions on Tuesday night at the
Jones Center, and look to earn their first victory over GCU since
Oct. 15, 2005.
Post - Senior setter Taylor Doyle is closing in on 3,000 career
assists and only needs 91 more to reach the milestone. This week,
the Eagles travel to Bloomfield before hosting Felician and
Goldey-Beacom at the end of the week.
