NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 17, 2011) – Caldwell College junior outside hitter Susan McDonough and Holy Family University sophomore middle blocker Sarah Ambach have been named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-East Region second team. McDonough was the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year, while Ambach was a member of the All-Conference second team. The team was voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

McDonough, a junior outside hitter from Saline, Mich., is having an outstanding season, leading the CACC in kills per set (3.82) while ranking seventh in hitting percentage at .229.  She also is averaging 3.99 digs per set to rank seventh in the league. This season she has recorded 18 double-doubles (kills-digs) while notching 10 or more kills 24 times and 10 or more digs 23 times. A four-time CACC Player of the Week honoree, McDonough led the Cougars to their second consecutive CACC championship by averaging 4.36 kills and 4.36 digs per set in three CACC Tournament matches. She was named the CACC Tournament's Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row.

Ambach, a sophomore from Springboro, Ohio, put together a career year as she set new career highs in total kills (325), attack percentage (.303), solo blocks (23) and total blocks (74).
 
Ambach's .303 attack percentage leads the CACC and is the highest ever recorded in program history in a single season.  Last year, Ambach set the recent high mark with a .280 attack percentage.  Through two seasons she has a .294 career attack percentage.  She is also ranked sixth in program history with 142 total blocks. Recently, Ambach was named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District 1 First Team and earned All-Tournament laurels at this year's CACC Championship.
