PEREIRA COLLECTS CACC VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY HONORS

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Uerequenia Pereira of Bloomfield College has collected Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 3. Georgian Court University's Karol Oliveros was named Rookie of the Week.
Pereira, a 5-9 junior OH/MB from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, averaged 3.60 kills, 4.0 digs and 0.30 blocks per-set in a 2-1 week for the Lady Deacons. She registered 14 kills, 18 digs and two aces in a key CACC North Division victory over Post. She added 10 kills and 14 digs at Philadelphia.
Oliveros, a 5-7 freshman setter from Newark, N.J., held match-high assist totals in all four matches in a 3-1 week for the Lions. She handed out 40 assists, five kills and nine digs in a 3-2 win over Wilmington and contributed 28 assists and four digs in a sweep over Felician.

Titilola Alao, Caldwell (Jr., MB, 5-11, Ossining, NY) - Led Caldwell to a 3-0 week with 2.80 kills and 0.80 blocks per-set.
Jill Keeve, Holy Family (Jr., OH, LaGrange, IL) - Averaged 3.71 kills and 3.00 digs per-set last week for the Tigers.
Courtney Heard, Dominican (So., MB/OH, Ventura, CA) - Posted 3.83 kills per-set at a .606 attack percentage last week.
Moana Masoniai, Nyack (Jr., Waikhu, HI) - Averaged 5.0 kills at a .324 percentage along with 3.17 digs per-set for the Warriors.
Team Notes
Bloomfield - The Lady Deacons improved to
4-4 in CACC play with a 2-1 week this week, running their
conference winning streak to four straight with a pair of midweek
victories over North Division rivals. Junior Uerequenia
Pereira led the charge this week, averaging 3.6 kills, 4.0
digs and .30 blocks per game, and registering double-digit kills in
each of the club’s three contests. Suzy
Zanette continued her outstanding play, averaging 3.5
kills and .7 service aces per game, including a 20-kill performance
in Bloomfield’s crucial victory over Post University Thursday
night. The team now sits in third place in the North Division,
holding the tiebreaker over Post University, who is also 4-4.
Caldwell - The Cougars extended their winning streak to nine matches with wins over Post, Concordia and USciences last week. Sophomore right side Amber Mosher racked up 19 kills and a .364 hitting percentage in a five-set win at Post on Tuesday. Junior middle blocker Titilola Alao led Caldwell to a sweep of Concordia on Thursday with 11 kills while hitting .421. Freshman middle blocker Kasey Bausch registered nine kills and a .562 hitting percentage in a three-set victory at USci on Saturday. The Cougars look to tie the school record for consecutive wins with a non-conference match at Molloy on Thursday. Caldwell also hosts Holy Family in a CACC match on Saturday.
Felician - Seniors Amber Doran and Erica Moore both surpassed the Felician all-time record for matches played, formerly held by Laura Peskosky with 103. Doran finished the week with 105 matches and Moore with 104.
Georgian Court - The Lions three-game winning streak last week (9/28-10/2) was GCU’s first winning streak of any sort this season. Georgian Court travels to West Chester (10/5) and Post University (10/9) this week.
Philadelphia - The Rams played a 2-1 week and put together their fourth and fifth sweeps of the season. They rank first in the CACC South Division with a 6-1 record.
USciences - Senior Sarah Hickman (Newark, Del.) recorded her 500th career dig vs. Caldwell, becoming the 14th volleyball player in school history to do so. With two solo blocks vs. Caldwell, senior Christine Puschak (Leola, Pa.) moved into eighth place on the Devils all-time list with 70 for her career. In the most recent NCAA statistical rankings, senior Cady Rich (Shelton, Conn.) ranked 33rd in blocks/set (1.1) and sophomore Stacey Wooden (Levittown, Pa.) ranked 33rd in digs/set. (5.03). The Devils as a team are ranked 11th nationally in aces/set (2.55). Three conference matches are on tap for Sciences this week with road contests at Holy Family and Wilmington and a home match against Dominican College.
Wilmington - Nicole Wiechecki, a transfer from Robert Morris, continues to play well for the Wildcats. She posted three double-doubles in a 2-2 week and added 12 service aces.
