McDONOUGH NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR CACC VOLLEYBALL

NEW HAVEN, CT - Susan McDonough of Caldwell College has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 8. Dominican College's Whitney Ranger was honored as the Rookie of the Week.

McDonough, a 5-9 freshman outside hitter from Saline, MI, averaged 4.33 kills at a .283 attack percentage and 4.17 digs per-set in a 2-0 week for the Cougars. She also contributed 1.0 aces per-set. She tallied 17 kills and 11 digs in a win over Chestnut Hill and added nine kills and 14 digs against Molloy.

Ranger, a 5-8 freshman setter from Ventura, CA, averaged 9.67 assists, 2.67 kills (.727 attack percentage) and 2.00 digs per-set last week. She had a match-high 29 assists against Nyack.

Honorable Mention

Michelle Fiorvanti, Dominican (Fr., OH, 5-9, Commack, NY) - Led DC with 11 kills in a 3-0 win over Nyack.

Ellie Edgar, Philadelphia (Fr., MH, 6-0, Cuyahoga Falls, OH) - Averaged 3.33 kills (.227%) and 0.67 blocks per-set in a 2-0 week for the Lady Rams.

Cindy Adams, Philadelphia (Sr., DS, 5-6, Fleetwood, PA) - Registered 2.17 kills and 2.33 digs per-set in two matches last week.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - The Cougars clinched its second CACC North Division title in a row with Saturday's three-set triumph at Chestnut Hill. The victory, combined with Tuesday's sweep of Molloy, extended Caldwell's school-record winning streak to nine matches heading into this week's CACC Tournament. The results also gave the program its first 20-win season. Freshman outside hitter Susan McDonough, last week's CACC Player of the Week, notched 17 kills against Chestnut Hill. Sophomore setter Lauren Roth dished out 10.0 assists per set last week, including 33 in the three-set win over the Griffins. As the top seed in the North, the Cougars will host fourth-seeded Nyack on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the George R. Newman Center.

Georgian Court - With one CACC victory last week, the Lions have now won 69 straight CACC matches going into the CACC Tournament. The top-ranked Lions will host South #4 USP in the quarter-finals on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.

Philadelphia - The Lady Rams went 2-0 to start off the month of November gathering steam for a postseason run. The team earned 3-0 victories against conference opponents Chestnut Hill College (11/02) and Nyack College (11/07). This week PhilaU opens up the CACC Tournament at home against Holy Family (11/10).
