RUMPLE EARNS VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY ACCOLADES

NEW HAVEN, CT - Wilmington University's Shannon Rumple has earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Player of the Week accolades for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 11. Courtney Heard of Dominican College garnered Rookie of the Week honors.

Rumple, a 5-9 sophomore setter from Fallston, MD, led Wilmington to a 3-0 week with averages of 10.11 assists, 2.6 digs, 1.0 service aces and 0.22 blocks per-game. She recorded 33 assists and nine digs against Felician and 23 assists and seven digs in a sweep over USP. She added 35 assists in a sweep over Mercy.

Heard, a 5-9 freshman middle blocker from Ventura, CA, helped lead the Chargers to a 3-0 week with averages of 2.55 kills, 0.36 blocks, 0.73 digs and a .278 hitting percentage. She tied her career-high with 14 kills  at Nyack and collected a match-high nine kills in a sweep of Bloomfield.

Honorable Mention

Stephanie Rivera, Georgian Court (Jr., MH, 5-8, Toa Alta, PR) - Averaged 2.8 kills at a .394 attack %, and 1.0 digs and 0.83 blocks per-game in a 2-0 week.

Celena Rendon, Philadelphia (Sr., OH, 5-9, San Antonio, TX) - Posted averages of 2.67 kills and 4.50 digs per-game last week.

Christine Puschak, USP (Jr., MB, 6-0, Leola, PA) - Recorded 3.36 kills and 0.55 blocks per-set in three matches last week.

Susan McDonough, Caldwell (Fr., OH, 5-9, Saline, MI) - Registered 14 kills and 17 digs in a 3-1 win over Holy Family.

CACC Notes

Bloomfield - BC went 1-1 on the week, moving to 4-6 in the CACC and one game out of fourth-place in the North Division. After falling to Dominican, the Lady Deacons rebounded to beat Goldey-Beacom, 3-0. Ursula Pereira led the charge with 12 kills in the win. BC is back in action Thursday, Oct. 15 against Felician at 7:00 pm.

Caldwell - The Cougars won their only match of the week, a 3-1 victory at Holy Family on Saturday. Freshman outside hitter Susan McDonough registered team highs of 14 kills and 17 digs to pace Caldwell, which improved to 8-1 in the CACC and 10-9 overall. Sophomore middle blocker Titilola Alao had eight total blocks to help the Cougars tally 13.0 total team blocks. Caldwell plays at CACC North Division foes Bloomfield and Dominican on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively.



Felician - Felician has played Mercy College three times this season. All three matches have gone to five sets, with Felician going 1-2 in those meetings.

Georgian Court - With last week's two home victories, the Lions have now won 33 straight home matches. GCU extended its CACC winning streak to 59 after Saturday's win over Post.

Philadelphia - It was a 3-0 week for the Lady Rams, who defeated Chestnut Hill College, Millersville University, and Concordia College. The highlight of the week was a 3-1 victory over Millersville. Upcoming matches this week include three conference matches against Wilmington University (10/13), at the University of the Sciences (10/15), and then a double match at Georgian-Court University facing off against GCU followed by a match against Dowling College (10/17).

USP - The Devils won their fourth straight watch with a 3-1 win over Holy Family on Tuesday, and had their winning streak snapped two nights later at Wilmington. Junior middle blocker Cady Rich (Shelton, Conn.) had 26 kills this week give her 589 for her career, moving her into 5th place on the Devils' all-time list. Rich also moved into sole possession of 4th place on the Devils all-time blocks list, recording 6 on the week to give her 242 total for her career. Junior middle blocker Christine Puschak (Leola, Pa.) became just the 4th volleyball player in school history to record 700 kills for her career, getting 37 on the week to give her 712 for her career. Puschak also moved into a tie for fifth place on the Devils' all time service aces list, with 132 for her career. Kirsten Lechner (Wayne, N.J.) recorded the 800th dig of her career against Dominican and moved into 8th place on the Devils all-time list, recording 29 total digs this week to give her 807 for her career. Lechner also needs just seven aces to become the eight player in school history to record 100 for their career. The Devils are back home this week, hosting Millersville in a non-conference match on Wednesday before taking on Philadelphia University in a CACC Southern Division class on Thursday. The Devils travel to Concordia on Saturday.

Wilmington - The Wildcats rebounded this week with three wins. After losing to USP in five games earlier in the year, Wilmington swept the Devils last week. WU went on to beat Mercy on Saturday. Down 24-21 in the third game, the Wildcats rallied to win, 29-27.
