BUTLER NAMED HEAD VOLLEYBALL COACH AT FELICIAN

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Amber Butler of Secaucus has been named the head women’s volleyball coach at Felician College, director of athletics Ben DiNallo Jr. announced today. She is the third coach in program history.
Butler has spent the last two years as an assistant coach at Montclair State University. In 2009 the Red Hawks were a New Jersey Athletic Conference finalist and won the NJAC regular-season championship. She has also served one season as the head coach of Hoboken High.
Butler received a BS from Adelphi University in physical education and health studies in 2003. While at Adelphi, she was a two-sport, four-year letterwinner in volleyball and basketball. She earned a master’s in exercise science from Montclair State in 2009. Butler teaches physical education, health and drivers’ education and is the boys’ basketball coach at University Academy Charter High of Jersey City.
Felician, an NCAA Division II member, plays in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. In 2009, their sixth year of existence, the Golden Falcons had a won-lost record of 4-27 and finished sixth in the CACC North Division.
