2008 CACC Volleyball Weekly Award Winners

September 2

Player of the Week: Caitlin Hess, Wilmington (So., MH, 6-3, Newark, DE) - Was named MVP of the Wildcat Invitational at Wilmington University this past weekend. She hit .452 for the week along with 2.71 kills and 1.36 blocks per-set. She recorded 15 kills and seven blocks against Le Moyne and nine kills and six blocks versus Concordia.

Rookie of the Week: Jill Keeve, Holy Family (Fr., OH, LaGrange, IL) - Averaged 2.60 kills, 2.73 digs and 0.60 blocks per-set in the opening week of the season for the Tigers. She registered 12 kills, 14 digs and four blocks in a win over Davis & Elkins.

September 8

Player of the Week: Celena Rendon, Philadelphia (Jr., OH, 5-9, San Antonio, TX) - Averaged 3.0 kills, 1.12 digs and 0.41 service aces while sporting a .355 attack percentage in five matches. She recorded 18 kills, seven digs and three aces at East Stroudsburg while hitting .438.

Rookie of the Week: Megan DeLamater, Felician (Fr., S, 5-10, Paramus, NJ) - Averaged 1.42 kills, 1.58 blocks, 4.10 assists and 1.17 digs per-set in three matches last week. She picked up 10 assists, four kills, six digs and nine blocks against Elizabeth City State.

September 15

Player of the Week: Ann Casado, Georgian Court (Sr., OH/S, 5-6, Brick, NJ) - Led Georgian Court to a 4-0 week with averages of 4.5 kills, 4.56 digs and 8.5 assists per-set. Registered 16 kills and 18 digs in a win over UMass-Lowell and 21 assists and 23 digs against Merrimack. She was named to the All-Tournament team at the UMass-Lowell Tournament.

Rookie of the Week: Roni Shaner, Goldey-Beacom (Fr., S, 5-7, Elkton, MD) - Averaged 5.86 assists, 0.86 service aces and 3.0 digs per-set in a 1-1 week for the Lightning. Tallied 27 assists, 14 digs and three aces in a CACC-opening win at Dominican.

September 22

Player of the Week: Lauren Roth, Caldwell (Fr., 5-8, S, Findlay, OH) - Led Caldwell to a 2-0 week, including its first non-conference victory since re-establishing the program in 2006 with a win at Molloy. She averaged 9.1 assists, 3.0 digs and 0.40 blocks per-set for the week. Recorded 34 assists and 17 digs in a CACC win over Dominican and provided a career-high 39 assists at Molloy.

Rookie of the Week: Jill Keeve, Holy Family (Fr., OH, 5-11, LaGrange, IL) - Averaged 2.83 kills at a .367 attack percentage, along with 1.0 digs per-set in two matches last week. Notched 12 kills and five digs in a loss to West Chester.

September 29

Player of the Week: Jen O'Connor, Holy Family (Sr., 5-6, Wilmington, DE) - Led Holy Family to a 4-0 week by stepping into the setter role and responding with an average of 10.15 assists per-set. Also chipped in with 2.23 digs per-set. Registered 35 assists and 10 digs against Wilmington and 35 assists against NYIT.

Co-Rookies of the Week: Katie Hornback, Holy Family (Fr., OH, 5-11, Indianapolis, IN) and Amber Mosher, Caldwell (Fr., OH, 5-9, Flanders, NJ) - Hornback averaged 3.08 kills, 2.38 digs, 1.08 service aces and 0.62 blocks per-set and hit .276 for the week. Had 10 digs, six kills, six aces and three blocks against Goldey-Beacom and 11 kills and a .500 attack percentage against Saint Anselm. Mosher averaged 3.09 kills, 2.18 digs, 0.64 blocks and hit .373 in a 2-1 week. Earned 16 kills and 14 digs in a 5-set thriller against Southern Connecticut and 15 kills and a .500 attack percentage against Post.

October 6

Player of the Week: Celena Rendon, Philadelphia (Jr., OH, San Antonio, TX) - Averaged 4.17 kills, 3.0 digs, 0.50 blocks and 0.83 service aces per-set while posting a .360 hitting percentage in a 2-0 week. Recorded 18 kills, 13 digs, three aces and three blocks in a 3-1 triumph over Post.

Co-Rookies of the Week: Katie Hornback, Holy Family (Fr., OH, 5-11, Indianapolis, IN) and Titilola Alao, Caldwell (Fr., MB, 5-10, Ossining, NY) - Hornback averaged 2.67 kills and 1.75 digs per-set and a .307 hitting percentage in a 3-1 week. Had 10 kills, three digs, two blocks and one service ace in a victory over Mercy and nine kills and nine digs against Chestnut Hill. Alao posted averages of 2.45 kills and 0.91 blocks per-set at a .288 hitting percentage in a 2-2 week for the Cougars. Led the Cougars to a five-set victory over Molloy with 17 kills, a .394 hitting percentage and five total blocks.

October 13

Player of the Week: Claire Tauschek, USP (Sr., L, 5-8, Verona, WI) - Led USP to a 3-0 week by averaging 6.0 digs and 0.55 service aces per-set. Against Chestnut Hill, Tauschek became the first USP and CACC player to record 2,000 career digs. Becomes the 37th player in NCAA Division II history to do so. Racked up 32 digs in a 5-set win over Goldey-Beacom. 

Co-Rookies of the Week: Katie Hornback, Holy Family (Fr., OH, 5-11, Indianapolis, IN) and Rebekah Waybrant, Philadelphia (Fr., OH, 5-10, Gettysburg, PA) -  Hornback averaged 4.17 kills, 1.0 digs and 0.83 blocks per-set in a 2-0 week. She recorded 14 kills against Kutztown and 11 versus Dominican. Waybrant averaged 1.33 kills at a .243 hitting percentage along with 0.33 blocks per-set in a 3-1 week for the Lady Rams.

October 20

Player of the Week: Aimee Drabyn, Holy Family (So., S, 5-7, Avon, IN) - Led Holy Family to a 3-0 week with averages  of 9.42 assists, 1.75 digs and 0.42 service aces per-set. Recorded 43 assists, three kills and 10 digs against Southern Connecticut State and 34 assists against Philadelphia.

Rookie of the Week: Katie Hornback, Holy Family (Fr., OH, 5-11, Indianapolis, IN) - Averaged 4.75 kills at a .230 hitting percentage, 1.42 digs and 0.75 blocks per-set in a 3-0 week. Tallied 20 kills against both Philadelphia and Southern Connecticut State and added eight digs against SCSU.

October 27

Player of the Week: Lauren Roth, Caldwell (Fr., S, 5-8, Findlay, Ohio) - Led Caldwell to a huge week with wins over Bloomfield, Holy Family and Felician, to move into first place in the North Division. Averaged 9.75 assists, 3.17 digs, 0.92 kills and 0.33 blocks per-set. Recorded 49 assists and 17 digs against Bloomfield and 30 helpers in a 3-0 win over Holy Family.

Rookie of the Week: Rosie Fernandez, Post (Fr., DS, 5-4, Rahway, NJ) - Averaged 3.72 digs, 1.2 kills and 0.54 service aces per-set in a 3-0 week for the Eagles. Recorded 17 digs and four kills against Felician and 15 digs and five kills at Nyack.

November 3

Player of the Week: Lisamary Figueroa, Georgian Court (Jr., S, Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) - Led Georgian Court to a 3-0 week by averaging 8.90 assists, 2.0 digs and 1.1 kills per-set. Tallied 37 assists, 12 digs and six kills against Holy Family and added 33 assists, seven digs and five kills versus Nyack.

Rookie of the Week: Katie Hornback, Holy Family (Fr., OH, 5-11, Indianapolis, IN) - Averaged 3.58 kills, 0.75 blocks and 0.75 digs per-set in a 2-1 week. Posted 16 kills at a .500 hitting percentage in a win over Wilmington and 13 kills, three blocks and three digs in a victory over Bloomfield.

November 10

Player of the Week: Ann Casado, Georgian Court (Sr., OH/S, Brick, NJ) - Averaged 3.8 kills at a .500 hitting percentage, 2.5 digs, 0.40 service aces and 0.40 blocks per-set last week. She recorded a match-high 21 kills and 10 digs in a win over Wilmington.

Rookie of the Week: Jordan Beland, Holy Family (Fr., L, 5-7, New Freedom, PA) - Enjoyed a huge defensive week for the Tigers, averaging 6.10 digs per-set in a 2-1 week. Picked up 30 digs at Philadelphia, 16 versus Nyack and 15 against USP.

November 17

Player of the Week: Crystal Murdock, Georgian Court (Sr., MH, 5-8, Manahawkin, NJ) - Was named MVP of the CACC Tournament after leading the Lions to their third straight championship. Averaged 2.55 kills per-set at a .645 hitting percentage. Tied her own tournament record with an .818 hitting percentage in the championship match against Philadelphia (9 kills, 0 errors, 11 attempts).

Rookie of the Week: Lauren Roth, Caldwell (Fr., S, Findlay, OH) - Averaged 7.75 assists, 2.38 digs and 1.13 kills per-set in two CACC Tournament matches last week. She recorded 40 assists, six kills and 10 digs in a quarter-final victory over Nyack.
