HESS CLAIMS VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES

NEW HAVEN, CT - Caitlin Hess of Wilmington University has claimed volleyball Player of the Week accolades in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 1. Jill Keeve of Holy Family University was tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Hess, a 6-3 sophomore middle hitter from Newark, DE, was named MVP of the Wildcat Invitational at Wilmington University this past weekend. She hit .452 for the week along with 2.71 kills and 1.36 blocks per-game. She recorded 15 kills and seven blocks against Le Moyne and nine kills and six blocks versus Concordia.

Keeve, a freshman outside hitter from LaGrange, IL, averaged 2.60 kills, 2.73 digs and 0.60 blocks per-game in the opening week of the season for the Tigers. She registered 12 kills, 14 digs and four blocks in a win over Davis & Elkins.

Honorable Mention

Ann Casado, Georgian Court (Sr., OH, 5-6, Brick, NJ) - Averaged 4.57 kills and 1.86 digs per-game in a 2-0 week for the Lions.

Mallory Lennon, Holy Family (So., MB, Montgomery, TX) - Averaged 2.31 kills and 0.94 blocks per-game in four matches to start the season.

Nicole Gizzi, Post (Jr., RS, Waterbury, CT) - Posted averages of 2.08 kills, 0.50 aces and 0.50 blocks per-game in a 1-2 week.
