RUTHERFORD, N.J. - High-school senior Jenna Matesic of Paramus has signed a national letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Felician College, Golden Falcon head coach Alan Clements announced today.
A 5-foot-9 outside hitter, Matesic was named first-team all-league and third-team all-Bergen County as a senior at Paramus High School. She is also a member of the Essex Volleyball Club. She intends to major in teacher education at Felician.
"We are excited to get a player of Jenna's ability and knowledge of the game," said Clements, entering his third season. "Coming from Paramus High, we know she is well-schooled in volleyball. She is the type of player that we need to become competitive in our conference."
The Felician women's volleyball program will enter its sixth season of existence in 2009. Members of the NCAA Division II Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, the Golden Falcons will look to rebound from a 3-28 won-lost record in 2008.
