2007 CACC Volleyball Weekly Award Winners September 10 Player of the Week: Christine Puschak, USP (Fr., MH, 6-0, Leola PA) - Led USP to a 3-0 week by averaging 3.15 kills per-game at a .326 attack percentage, along with 1.00 blocks per-game. Collected 21 kills against American International and added 11 kills, six service aces and six blocks against Southern Connecticut State. Rookie of the Week: Stephanie Rivera, Georgian Court (Fr., MH, 6-0, Toa Alta, Puerto Rico) - Averaged 1.88 kills and 2.41 digs per-game for the week. Recorded a double-double against C.W. Post with 10 kills and 11 digs and added 14 digs against Bentley. September 17 Player of the Week: Ann Casado, Georgian Court (Jr., OH, Brick, NJ) - Led Georgian Court to a 2-0 week with averages of 3.7 kills, 1.8 digs and a .355 attack percentage. She recorded 13 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 conference victory over Dominican. Rookie of the Week: Lauren Hoover, Philadelphia (Fr., S, New Baltimore, MI) - Averaged 10.11 assists and 2.11 digs per-game in a 2-1 week for the Lady Rams. Provided 38 assists and eight digs in a 3-0 CACC win over USP. September 24 Player of the Week: Kerry Smith, Post (Jr., OH, Smithtown, NY) - Led Post to a 3-0 week by averaging 4.55 kills and 4.27 digs per-game. Registered two double-doubles, including 24 kills, 15 digs and three service aces versus Dominican. Added 11 kills and 23 digs at Goldey-Beacom. Rookie of the Week: Christine Puschak, USP (Fr., 6-0, MH, Leola, PA) - Helped lead USP to a 3-0 week with averages of 4.11 kills, 1.44 service aces and 0.89 blocks per-game, along with a .500 attack percentage. She registered 14 kills, seven service aces and two blocks against Felician. October 1 Player of the Week: Ursula Pereira, Bloomfield (So., 5-11, MB, Belo Horizonte, Brazil) - Led Bloomfield to a 2-0 week with averages of 6.43 kills, 2.29 digs and 0.71 blocks per-game. Posted 31 kills and nine digs against Dominican and added 14 kills and five blocks versus Caldwell. Rookie of the Week: Lauren Hoover, Philadelphia (Fr., 5-7, S, New Baltimore, MI) - Averaged 11.17 assists and 3.33 digs per-game in a 2-0 week. She amassed 32 assists and added 13 digs against Goldey-Beacom and followed with 35 assists versus Caldwell. October 8 Player of the Week: Lindsey Wenderoth, USP (Sr., 5-5, OH, Reistertown, MD) - Collected two double-doubles and averaged 2.87 kills, 3.60 digs and 0.33 blocks per-game for the week. Registered 14 kills and 25 digs against Molloy and added 10 kills and 13 digs against Bloomfield. Rookie of the Week: Lauren Hoover, Philadelphia (Fr., 5-7, S, New Baltimore, MI) - Averaged 12.82 assists and 3.27 digs per-game in a 2-1 week for the Lady Rams. She had 59 assists and 15 digs at Wilmington and added 41 assists and 15 digs against Holy Family. October 15 Player of the Week: Ann Casado, Georgian Court (Jr., 5-7, OH, Brick, NJ) - Led Georgian Court to a 5-1 week, including a 3-1 record at the competitive East Stroudsburg Tournament. She averaged 3.81 kills at a .277 attack percentage, along with 2.30 digs and 1.23 service aces per-game. Rookie of the Week: Aimee Drabyn, Holy Family (Fr., 5-7, S, Avon, IN) - Averaged 11.0 assists and 3.50 digs per-game in a 2-1 week for the Tigers. She provided 51 assists and 15 digs in a 3-1 win over Molloy and added 35 assists and 12 digs in a sweep over Post. October 22 Player of the Week: Ursula Pereira, Bloomfield (So., 5-11, MB, Belo Horizonte, Brazil) - Led Bloomfield to a 3-0 week with averages of 7.78 kills and 4.56 digs per-game, along with a .315 attack percentage. Had 27 kills vs. Goldey-Beacom and 24 kills and 22 digs at Felician. She hit no less than .255 in any match for the week. Rookie of the Week: Meghan Frick, Wilmington (Fr., 5-9, OH, Fairfax, VA) - Posted averages of 2.8 kills, 4.6 digs, 0.45 blocks and 0.60 service aces per-game in a 2-1 week. Had double-doubles against USP and Stonehill, including 12 kills, 19 digs, three aces and three blocks against USP. October 29 Player of the Week: Ursula Pereira, Bloomfield (So., 5-11, MB, Belo Horizonte, Brazil) - Led Bloomfield to a 3-0 week with averages of 6.09 kills, 4.36 digs and 0.55 blocks per-game, while hitting .301. She recorded 28 kills, 24 digs and three blocks in a 3-1 win over Wilmington and added 18 kills and eight digs at Nyack. Rookie of the Week: Aimee Drabyn, Holy Family (Fr., 5-7, S, Avon, IN) - Averaged 12.1 assists and 2.2 digs per-game in a 2-1 week for the Tigers. She contributed 56 assists and nine digs at Felician, 37 assists and 12 digs at Wilmington and added 40 assists against Georgian Court. November 5 Player of the Week: Keisha Milstrey, Felician (Sr., Bronx, NY) - Led Felician to its first-ever CACC Tournament appearance with two key victories last week. She averaged 5.45 kills, 1.00 digs and 0.45 blocks per-game while hitting .235. She recorded 27 kills in the regular-season finale at Wilmington. Rookie of the Week: Dee Dee Smith, Felician (Sr., MH, Monticello, NY) - Averaged 4.36 kills, 0.91 blocks and 0.64 digs per-game in a 2-1 week for the Golden Falcons. Seven of her 10 blocks on the week were solo. November 12 Player of the Week: Rebecca Walczak, Georgian Court (Sr., L, Toms River, NJ) - Helped lead Georgian Court to its second straight CACC Championship with a 3-1 victory over Holy Family. She averaged 3.4 digs per-game in the tournament in three matches. She recorded 15 digs in the championship match. Rookie of the Week: Lauren Gosnell, Holy Family (Fr., OH, Tipton, IN) - Averaged 4.33 kills, 1.83 digs and 0.75 service aces per-game in helping lead the Tigers to the CACC Tournament Championship match. She posted 19 kills, four aces and 10 digs in championship match against Georgian Court. |
