PHILADELPHIA, PA ? Holy Family University women's volleyball head coach Sue Kilian announced the signing of Rebecca Tett to a National Letter of Intent for the 2008-2009 season in the early signing period.

Tett is a senior at Notre Dame Academy in Middleburg, VA and is playing for the Clash Volleyball Club.

"Rebecca is a big strong athlete who will add a physical presence to our team," said Kilian. "As we continue to build the program, we need to add players like her who have both the size and ability to help us compete beyond the next level."

She is a 6'3" middle hitter who led Notre Dame Academy to the 2007 Virginia Independent Schools Volleyball Association (VISVA) Division II State championship. In her senior year, she led the team with 252 kills (.358 hitting percentage), 29 solo blocks, 17 block assists, and 34 aces.

"Beckie has been a dominant player for us through out her four years at Notre Dame Academy," said Notre Dame Academy head coach Shelly Franco. "Her leadership both on and off the court have played an important part in Notre Dame's success. She really is a great kid and a talented athlete."

In her senior year, Tett gathered a number of awards. Included were the VISVA All-State Team , Cavalier Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, VISVA Division II State All tournament team, and the St. John's Fragile 'X' All tournament team.

"We look forward to adding Rebecca to our successful 2007 recruiting class," said Kilian. "We expect that she will have a great career at Holy family, both academically and athletically."

Holy Family finished the 2007 season with an 18-21 overall with a 14-4 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record. The team made the CACC Tournament for the first time, reaching the finals.
