CACC Volleyball Notes

Caldwell - The Cougars earned their first win on the road, defeating Chestnut Hill College in three games on Oct. 20. Freshman middle blocker Keesha Francois helped Caldwell set a team record for hitting percentage (.392) by recording 11 kills with just one error in 19 attempts (.526). On Oct. 18, the Cougars played in their first five-game match, narrowly falling to Nyack College despite tallying a program-best 80 kills. Freshman outside hitter Cory Roesing had 26 kills to pace Caldwell.

Felician - In 13 August/September matches, Felician hit .075 with 9.57 kills and 17.02 digs per game. In nine October matches, the Golden Falcons have hit .152 with 11.75 kills and 20.43 digs per game.

Georgian Court - Georgian Court became the first regional team to push Dowling to a five-game match in over two years on Saturday. Dowling won the marathon, 28-30, 27-30, 30-21, 30-24, 15-10. Georgian Court also went five games against Franklin Pierce and Bryant over the weekend at the Bryant University Tournament.

Philadelphia - Senior Emily Krauss, with 1,499 in her career, needs one kill to reach the 1,500 plateau for her outstanding four-year tenure as a starter for Philadelphia. The Lady Rams have won four straight matches, and eight of their last 10, all in CACC competition. They face a busy upcoming week, beginning with a non-conference encounter against the PSAC Eastern Division's East Stroudsburg University on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., then the return of their home-and-home series with CACC South Division-leading Georgian Court on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.?both of those taking place at the Gallagher Center. The team then hits the road on Saturday to face Post to close out a three-match week. Fourth-year Head Coach Mark Magarity's next win will be his 90th.

USP - USP's win over Nyack was its sixth CACC win of the season, surpassing their conference win total from last season. Overall, the Devils already have three more wins than they did in 2006. Senior Lindsey Wenderoth became just the third women's volleyball player in school history to record 1,000 career kills with her seventh kill of the match in the third game vs. Nyack. Finishing the match with 10 kills, Lindsey now has 1,003 for her career. Freshman Cady Rich became just the fifth women's volleyball player to record 100 blocks in a season with four against Nyack. She is the first USP freshman to achieve this since the 2001 season and also moved into ninth place on the Devils all-time list with exactly 100 blocks. Wenderoth moved into seventh place on the Devils all-time ace list with 87 for her career. Andrea Cardine recorded her 500th career dig against Wilmington, moving into 10th place on the Devils all-time list ? she now has 515 for her career. Claire Tauschek ranks 19th nationally in digs/game(5.94) in last week's NCAA statistics release. Christine Puschak ranked 24th nationally in aces per game (0.70) and Rich ranked 71st nationally in blocks/game (1.14). USP ranks 64th in the nation in digs/game (18.39) and 42nd in aces/game (2.42).
