GEORGIAN COURT'S CASADO GARNERS VOLLEYBALL WEEKLY HONORS

NEW HAVEN, CT - Ann Casado of Georgian Court University has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 14. Aimee Drabyn of Holy Family University was the pick for Rookie of the Week.

Casado, a 5-7 junior outside hitter from Brick, NJ, Led Georgian Court to a 5-1 week, including a 3-1 record at the competitive East Stroudsburg Tournament on Friday and Saturday. She averaged 3.81 kills at a .277 attack percentage, along with 2.30 digs and 1.23 service aces per-game.

Drabyn, a 5-7 freshman setter from Avon, IN, averaged 11.0 assists and 3.50 digs per-game in a 2-1 week for the Tigers. She provided 51 assists and 15 digs in a 3-1 win over Molloy and added 35 assists and 12 digs in a sweep over Post.

Honorable Mention

Ursula Pereira, Bloomfield (So., OH, Belo Horizonte, Brazil) - Averaged 4.40 kills and 4.80 digs per-game in a 2-1 week.

Keisha Milstrey, Felician (Sr., OH, Bronx, NY) - Posted averages of 4.90 kills, 1.10 digs and 0.30 blocks in a 1-2 week for the Golden Falcons.

Andrea Cardine, USP (So., OH) - Registered 3.17 kills, 3.17 digs and 0.83 aces per-game in a 2-0 week. Had 12 kills and 10 digs in a sweep over GBC.

CACC Notes

Felician - Felician won its program-record third match of the season on Thursday, defeating Caldwell at home in three games. The Golden Falcons had a school-record .388 attack percentage in that match. Senior OH Keisha Milstrey set an individual school mark (min. 12 kills) by hitting .615 (17-1-26).

Georgian Court - The NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Committee has released this week's regional rankings and Georgian Court earned the sixth spot. This is the first top-10 ranking for the Lions' volleyball program. The regional rankings include the top 10 teams in each of the eight regions, with records through October 7.

USP - USP's win over Caldwell was their fifth CACC win of the season, equaling their total from the 2006 season. The Devils already have two more wins than they did in 2006. Junior Claire Tauschek recorded her 1,500th career dig against Goldey Beacom on Tuesday; she now has 1,535 for her career- second on the Devils all-time list. With 12 kills on the week, junior Megan Wolfe moved into a tie for sixth place on the Devils all-time kill list 408 for her career. Lindsey Wenderoth moved into eighth place on the Devils all-time ace list with 83 for her career. Freshman Cady Rich moved into 10th place of the Devils all-time block list with seven blocks on the week to give her 88 for her career. Tauschek ranks 21st nationally in digs/game(5.86) in last week's NCAA statistics release. Christine Puschak ranked 54th nationally in aces per game (0.62) and Rich ranked 86th nationally in blocks/game (1.1). The Devils as a team rank 66th in the nation in digs/game (18.21) and 64th nationally in aces/game (2.27).
