KRAUSS EARNS VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK ACCOLADES

NEW HAVEN, CT - Emily Krauss, a junior from Philadelphia University, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week for volleyball for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 10. Fellow Ram Celena Rendon is the pick for Rookie of the Week.

Krauss, who is from Stormville, NY, averaged 4.89 kills per-game at a .358 attack percentage last week, along with 2.89 digs and 0.89 aces per-game in a 3-0 week for the Rams. She notched 19 kills and 16 digs against Point Park. Krauss has been named Player of the Week twice so far this season.

Rendon, a freshman outside hitter from San Antonio, TX, had 12 kills and 14 digs against Point Park and averaged 2.78 kills and 3.00 digs per-game for the week. She added 0.33 aces and 0.33 blocks per-game.

Honorable Mention

Lindsey Wenderoth, USP (Jr., OH, 5-5, Owings Mills, MD/Owings Mills) - Named to the All-Tournament team at the Bryant Invitational with averages of 2.33 kills and 5.78 digs per-game.

Kinikia Collier, Dominican (So., OH, 5-5, Garnerville, NY/North Rockland) - Averaged 3.71 kills per-game for the week to go with 3.71 digs per-game.

CACC Volleyball Team Notes

Post - Post dropped a pair of five-game matches this week to Southern Connecticut State and Molloy College. On Wednesday at Southern, three Eagles had double-doubles led by sophomore Kerry Smith who had a team-high 15 kills and 12 digs. Junior Vicky Ducharme finished the evening with 13 kills and a team-high 18 digs, while junior Desere Obregon dished out 46 assists and recorded 12 digs. On Saturday against Molloy, Smith posted her second double-double in as many matches with 17 kills and 17 digs. Obregon recorded 44 assists and 10 digs and Michelle Stotz registered 27 digs. The Eagles will have three matches this week against CACC opponents. Post will host Dominican on Tuesday evening at the Drubner Center, then travel to Nyack on Thursday evening, and Wilmington on Saturday afternoon.

Philadelphia - After dropping their opening match at West Chester on August 30th, the Lady Rams have reeled off six straight victories, including three last week at the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cat Invitational.

USP - Lindsey Wenderoth was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Bryant Invitational. With 16 kills over the weekend, Olja Marjanovic moved into 10th place on the Devils all-time career list with 239. Claire Tauschek moved into fifth place on the Devils all-time service ace list, recording four this weekend to give her 91 for her career. Wenderoth's 52 digs over the three matches this weekend moved her into 4th place on the Devils all-time dig list with 799.
