NEW CASTLE, DE - Wilmington College's CACC consecutive match winning streak finally came to an end Wednesday night as the visiting Rams of Philadelphia University defeated the Wildcats by a score of 3-1 (30-22, 21-30, 30-28, 30-24) in volleyball action at the Pratt Center.

Ashley Colonatonio posted 19 kills and 12 digs for the Rams, while Emily Krauss chipped in with 10 kills and 25 digs. Lindsey Butler and Molly Malone added 13 and 10 kills respectively. Kristin Goede ran the offense with 48 assists and pitched in defensively with 15 digs. Erica Razze, playing in front of a home crowd, recorded 23 digs for Philadelphia.

The Wildcats were led by junior Kristin Wiedeman who posted 15 kills and 38 digs. Freshman Kristie Shropshire chipped in with 16 kills and 21 digs, while fellow freshman Denise Mentis added 15 kills and 9 digs.

Senior Angie Estep had 30 assists and 14 digs, while freshman Jaime Bohlert had 20 assists and 10 digs.

The consecutive win streak that was snapped, dated back to October 2001 and spanned 67 games. It started before the lone 4-year senior member of the Wildcats, Angie Estep, ever set foot on the campus of Wilmington College. It was quite a run, but in time, all good things must come to an end.

Following the game, Wilmington fell to 3-1 in the CACC and 4-10 overall, while Philadelphia University improved to 5-0 in the CACC and 9-3 overall. The Wildcats are slated to return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to USP to take on the Devils and Philadelphia University again in CACC tri-match action at 1:00 pm.
