GOLDEY-BEACOM SECURES TOP SEED IN CACC VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

NEW HAVEN Goldey-Beacom College has secured the top seed for this weeks Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Tournament. GBC has won 13 consecutive conference matches and enters the tournament with a 23-6 overall record, along with a 20-2 mark in conference play.

The University of Sciences in Philadelphia, who will host the tournament semifinals and finals on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12, earned the second seed with a 14-8 conference record to go with an 18-12 overall slate. Post University is the third seed and also compiled a 14-8 conference record, but USP won the tie-breaker by virtue of defeating Post twice during the regular-season. Post has an 18-16 overall record.

Wilmington College, which defeated Post in last seasons championship match, is the fourth seed with a 13-9 conference record and a 14-20 overall mark. Bloomfield is in the fifth spot after going 12-10 in the conference and 14-13 overall. The Deacons moved rapidly up the standings by going 8-2 over its final 10 conference matches.

The sixth and final seed in the tournament is Georgian Court. The Lions own an 11-11 conference mark and are 13-15 overall this season.
