COLANTONIO NAMED CACC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Ashley Colantonio of Philadelphia University has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the period of September 19-25. Danielle Thompson of NJIT has been tabbed CACC Rookie of the Week.

Colantonio, who hails from PHiladelphia, averaged 4.31 kills and 2.31 digs per-game with a .363 hitting percentage in leading the Rams to a 3-0 week. She notched 20 kills at a .447 hitting percentage and 11 digs against USP and added 19 kills and 12 digs in a victory over Wilmington. Furthermore, she set a school record for career kills during the week by notching her 957th career kill.

Thompson, who is from Stony Brook, NY, averaged 9.67 assists, 3.17 digs and 1.25 kills per-game in a 2-1 week for the Highlanders. She posted 46 assists, 12 digs and five kills against Dominican and had 37 assists and 20 digs versus Holy Family.
