PHILADELPHIA'S KRAUSS NAMED CACC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Emily Krauss of Philadelphia University has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the period of October 10-16. Two freshman stood out and have been named Co-Rookies of the Week, as Georgian Court's Claudimary Rivera and Kerry Smith of Post University have earned the honor.

Krauss, a sophomore from Stormville, NY, averaged 5.21 kills, 3.57 digs and compiled a .379 hitting percentage in a 4-0 week for the Rams. She registered 30 kills and 13 digs against Bloomfield and added 13 kills and 19 digs against Holy Family. Krauss and the Rams have won 20 consecutive matches.

Rivera and Smith both had outstanding weeks with very similar numbers. Rivera, who hails from Carolina, Puerto Rico, averaged 4.4 kills and 3.69 digs per-game, while Smith, a Lynbrook, NY native, recorded 4.0 kills and 4.92 digs per-game. Rivera added 0.77 blocks per-game and Smith notched a .312 hitting percentage for the week.
