CARBERRY NAMED VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Ashley Carberry of Goldey-Beacom College has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Volleyball Player of the Week for the period of November 8-14. Claudimary Rivera of Georgian Court University has been tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Carberry enjoyed an outstanding week in leading the Lightning to the CACC Tournament Championship last weekend. The sophomore from Newark, DE, averaged 5.0 kills and 2.0 blocks per-game in GBC's matches against Wilmington and USP. She also owned a .333 attack percentage and recorded 15 kills in each match. For her efforts, Carberry was named the Tournament MVP.

Rivera concluded her freshman campaign by averaging 3.50 kills and 3.50 digs per-game in two CACC Tournament matches last week. Rivera, who hails from Carolina, Puerto Rico, recorded 13 kills, 14 digs and two blocks in a semifinal loss to USP.
