USP Upends Nyack In Three

Notes: In the front end of a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference tri-match at Entwisle Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon, New Jersey Institute of Technology freshman Angie Casado (Brick, NJ/Brick Township) posted match-highs of 30 kills and 18 digs. Classmate Ashley Craig (Laurel, MD/Laurel ) contributed 43 assists and eight digs. Christina Labocki (Garfield, NJ) led Nyack College with 16 kills and 16 digs.

Notes: Led by Lindsey Wenderoth (Owings Mills, MD/Owings Mills), the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia handled Nyack in three games. Emily Roth (York, PA/Dallastown) added 10 kills and 16 digs for USP. The Devils out-hit the Warriors, .256-.050. Nyack?s Elisabeth Schlea (Berea, OH) had her second double-double of the day with 11 kills and 11 digs.

Notes: Casado led NJIT?s sweep of the day with 33 kills, 20 digs, and six aces, all season highs, while hitting .390. USP battled back from a 27-20 Game 4 deficit and saved three match points before succumbing for its first CACC loss. Kubra Tanrikulu (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) had 11 kills, including one to end the match, and nine digs, and Craig set up 51 assists for the Highlanders. Wenderoth hit .308 with 24 kills and 12 digs for the Devils.
