Senior named for second straight week

Waterbury, CT-Senior outside hitter Jennifer Giarratano (Seymour, CT) has been named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week.

Giarratano did the near impossible by topping her play from the first week. She had 45 kills and only nine errors for a .368 hitting percentage. She added 35 digs and 12 service aces. All led the team for the week. Her play has led the Eagles to a 6-2 start and first place in the conference.

"So far Jen has played extremely well and is very deserving of this recognition," said Dawn Spellman, head coach.

Giarratano was named CACC Player of the Week last week and was named All-Tournament at Bridgeport.

The Eagles are hoping to claim the top spot at season's end. They have finished runner-up each of the past two seasons.

TPU will be in action for two non-conference home matches this week. They face Stonehill Tuesday and Saint Rose Thursday in the Drubner Center.
