Wilmington VB Loses Opener at Bentley Tournament

Bentley, MA - Wilmington College lost a heartbreaker to regional power Bryant College tonight in volleyball action. The Lady Wildcats lost by a score of 3-0 (30-28, 30-27, 30-28). Wilmington was led by Julia Atkins (So., King George, VA) with 7 kills and a .462 hitting percentage. Kristin Wiedeman (So., Ashland, VA) chipped in with 7 kills as well. Angie Estep (Jr., Chesapeake Beach, MD) had 28 assists in defeat. On the defensive end, the 'Cats were led by Jamie Santo (Sr., Newark, DE) who had 14 digs, and Lindsay Miller (Sr., New Castle, DE) who had 12.

After the match the Wildcats now stand at 3-2 overall, while Bryant improved to 7-1. The next matches for Wilmington are Saturday when they are scheduled to take on host school Bentley College at 10:00 am and American International College later in the day at 1:00 pm.
