Philadlephia Sweeps Goldey-Beacom in Volleyball Opener

WILMINGTON, DE ? Ashley Colantonio posted 19 kills and 16 digs and Lindsay Buchanan added 10 kills as Philadelphia University defeated Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, in non-conference volleyball action Saturday afternoon at MBNA America Hall.

Philadelphia University (1-0) captured game one, 30-27, game two, 30-24, and game three, 30-27.

Junior Claire Phillips (Wilmington, DE) led the Lightning (0-1) with 13 kills and a game-high 20 digs while freshman Kendra Russell (New Castle, DE) notched 11 kills.

The Lightning return to action this Thursday when they host Millersville University at 7 p.m.
