Chestnut Hill's Andrew Silverman Selected by ITA As East Region’s Top Women's Tennis Assistant Coach
Skillman, N.J. – (June 6, 2012) – Chestnut Hill College Assistant Coach Andrew Silverman was selected as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II East Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year. Silverman has been a member of the Griffins tennis coaching staffs since 2008 and this year, Silverman helped Head Coach Albert Stroble direct the Chestnut Hill College women’s tennis team to the College’s first-ever National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Championship Tournament.
The Chestnut Hill College (19-7, 7-1) women’s tennis team enjoyed its greatest season in program history, a 19-7 overall finish which culminated in the Griffins' first trip to a NCAA DII Championship Tournament. Chestnut Hill battled through its 2011 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule using their depth of talent to their advantage as four student-athletes earned All-CACC selections and Stroble garnered his second straight CACC Coach of the Year award.
