CONCORDIA'S ROBERTS CHOSEN WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Ola Roberts of Concordia College has been chosen the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 10. Philadelphia's Isabella Espinosa was tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Roberts, a 5-7 senior who hails from Bucharest, Romania, led Concordia to wins over the second and third place teams in the CACC in Goldey-Beacom and Holy Family, by going 2-0 in both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.

Espinosa, a 5-3 freshman from Quito, Ecuador, posted a 3-0 record at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, as the Lady won all three of their matches last week.

Honorable Mention

Brittany Villa, Philadelphia (Jr., 5-3, Logan, NJ) - Went 3-0 at No. 4 singles last week and 2-1 in doubles play.

Maria Parapouras, Chestnut Hill (So., 5-2, Victoria, Australia) - Went 2-0 at #3 singles last week and also went 1-1 at No. 1 doubles. 

CACC Notes 

Philadelphia -  Philadelphia University won all three matches last week. It’s the team’s longest winning streak of the season. The Rams’ non-conference match against West Chester on (10/6) was suspended because of rain. A date for the resumption of play has not yet been set. The Lady Rams will hit the road for their final regular-season matches this week. On Tuesday, they will play at Holy Family. Conference play will conclude on Oct. 16 at Post University.
