2009 CACC Women's Tennis Weekly Award Winners
Sept. 8
Player of the Week: Daniela Rodriguez, Philadelphia (Jr., Quito, Ecuador) - Went 3-0 at No. 1 singles to start the 2009 season. Earned wins over the No. 1 players from Chestnut Hill, Holy Family and Cabrini.
Rookie of the Week: Jin Querubin, Holy Family (Fr., Mississauga, Ontario) - Won her No. 2 singles (6-3, 6-2) and No. 1 doubles (8-2) matches versus Philadelphia last week in her first collegiate action.
Sept. 14
Player of the Week: Daniela Rodriguez, Philadelphia (Jr., Quito, Ecuador) - In a 2-0 week for the Lady Rams, went undefeated at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. She gave up just two games in doubles with partner, Stephanie Reinke.
Rookie of the Week: Danielle Knott, Chestnut Hill (Fr., 5-6, Mount Vernon, NY) - Went 2-0 at both No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles last week against Georgian Court and Millersville.
Sept. 21
Player of the Week: Cristina Oliveira, Concordia (Sr., 5-4, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do sul) - Advanced to the semi-finals of the ITA Regional singles "A" bracket and won the doubles "A" bracket with teammate Ola Roberts. She also went undefeated against CACC opposition during the week.
Rookie of the Week: Ola Roberts, Concordia (Fr., 5-7, Romania) - Won the ITA Regional doubles "A" bracket with Oliveira and was the singles runner-up after falling to the No. 1 player from Southern New Hampshire.
Sept. 28
Player of the Week: Ola Roberts, Concordia (Fr., Bucharest, Romania) - Went undefeated on the week in both singles and doubles for the undefeated Clippers. Registered a straight set win over the 2008 CACC singles champion, Daniela Rodriguez of Philadelphia University.
Rookie of the Week: Yuliya Plevako, Concordia (Fr., Astana, Kasakhstan) - Had little trouble in her No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles matches last week, dropping only two games in three singles matches against Philadelphia, Holy Family and Post.
