DANIELA RODRIGUEZ EARNS CACC WOMEN'S TENNIS WEEKLY AWARD

NEW HAVEN, CT - Philadelphia University sophomore Daniela Rodriguez has earned Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 19. Rodriguez won the CACC Singles Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Rodriguez, who hails from Quito, Ecuador, won the CACC Singles Championship at the CACC Individual Tournament over the weekend. She upended No. 1 Luisiana Souto of Goldey-Beacom in the semifinals and No. 3 Shakir Willett of Holy Family in the championship. She was the No. 4 seed in the bracket. She also played in the championship match of the doubles competition with teammate Adriana Rodriguez.

Honorable Mention

Shakir Willett, Holy Family (Sr., 5-0, Bellport, NY) - Won the CACC Doubles Championship with teammate Quena Borres, and also played for the singles title at the CACC Individual Tournament.

Adriana Rodriguez, Philadelphia (So., 5-3, San Juan, Puerto Rico) - Advanced to the CACC doubles championship match and also the semifinals of the singles competition last weekend.

Quena Borres, Holy Family (Sr., Little Neck, NY) - Won the CACC Doubles Championship with teammate Shakir Willett.
