PULSINELLI TABBED CACC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEW HAVEN, CT - Melanie Pulsinelli of Holy Family University has been tabbed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Oct. 14. Adriana Rodriguez of Philadelphia University was the choice for Rookie of the Week.

Pulsinelli, a 5-5 sophomore from Levittown, PA, went 4-0 in helping to lead Holy Family to the CACC Championship. She won her singles match against Georgian Court in straight sets, then won against Philadelphia, 6-0, 6-3, both at No. 5 singles. She also went 2-0 at No. 3 doubles, winning 8-0 and 8-5.

Rodriguez, a freshman from San Juan, Puerto Rico, went 1-1 in singles and 1-0 in doubles at the CACC Championships. She won her matches at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles in the semifinals against Georgian Court. Rodriguez has been named Rookie of the Week four times this season.

CACC Notes

Holy Family - Holy Family University won its second consecutive CACC Championship last week. The Tigers defeated Georgian Court on Friday, 6-0. On Saturday, the team knocked off Philadelphia University, 5-0, for the championship and the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Philadelphia - The Lady Rams finished the CACC regular-season with an outstanding 6-1 record, and earned the #2 seed in the conference tournament which they will host beginning Friday, October 12th. Overall, Philadelphia University has won seven straight team matches. They host non-conference East Stroudsburg University this Thursday, October 11th, in addition to the CACC Team Championships.
