CURRY SELECTED PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Dawn Curry of Holy Family University has been selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 6. Grace McConnell of Post University was tabbed Rookie of the Week.

Curry, a 5-5 senior forward from Pennsville, N.J., was named MVP of the CACC Tournament by notching four goals and one assist in three tournament games. She scored the game’s lone goal in a 1-0 victory over top seeded Philadelphia in the championship game and recorded two goals in a quarter-final win over Caldwell. 

McConnell, a freshman goalkeeper from Leeds, England, made 15 saves and allowed only one goal in an overtime loss in the CACC quarter-finals at top-seeded Philadelphia. It was the third-highest save count in tournament history.

Honorable Mention
Jamilyn Snyder, Dominican (Jr., M, Lacey, NJ) - Registered four goals in two CACC Tournament games, including a hat trick in a win over Felician in the quarter-finals.

Kelly Lyons, Georgian Court (Sr., F, Jackson, NJ) - Tallied a hat trick in a CACC quarter-final win over Chestnut Hill.  

CACC Notes

Felician - Sophomore D Katie McDermott scored her first career goal during the Golden Falcons’ CACC quarterfinal loss to Dominican on Nov. 1. Junior M Emily Gleason was named to the all-tournament team. Despite the first-round exit, Felician enjoyed its best season since 2001, finishing in second place in the regular season and setting a school record for conference wins.
