WATERBURY, Conn - Post University Athletic Director Anthony Fallacaro announced today that Matt Micros has been hired as the head coach of the Eagles women’s soccer program.

“Matt has already proven to be a talented coach here at Post University in the past and most recently at Wesleyan,” said Fallacaro. “His contacts and expertise in the soccer world will no doubt return this program to its winning ways.”

Micros previously coached the Eagles in 2005 and 2006, making the conference tournament for the first time in program history both seasons, as well as a school best 11-8-4 record in 2006.

Following a one year stint at Quinnipiac, Micros served as an assistant at Wesleyan from 2008-2010, during which the team had three consecutive winning seasons and three post-season appearances for the first time in school history.

“Post University is headed in the right direction academically and athletically and I’m excited to be a part of it,” said Micros. “Assistant Coach Paul Dellostritto and I are looking forward to finishing what we started a few years ago. The timing was right to make another run at it and see how we can do this time.”

Micros is a part-owner of the Connecticut Football Club based in Hamden. The club hosts over 50 teams from U9 programs to the Connecticut Passion, a women’s semi-pro team that competes in the summer as a part of the Women’s Premiere Soccer League.
