JACOBOWITZ PICKS UP CACC WEEKLY ACCOLADES FOR WOMEN'S SOCCER

NEW HAVEN, CT - D.J. Jacobowitz of Felician College has picked up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week accolades for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 26. Dawn Curry of Holy Family University and Lauren Riiff of Chestnut Hill College were selected co-Rookies of the Week.

Jacobowitz, a 5-5 sophomore forward who calls Staten Island home, tallied 10 points in a 2-1 week. She scored the game-winning goal against both Mercy and Goldey-Beacom. Furthermore, she broke a 10-year old school record for both goals (19) and points (44) in a season for the Golden Falcons.

Curry, a 5-5 freshman forward from Pennsville, NJ, recorded five points in a 1-1 week for the Tigers. She scored one goal and one assist against Goldey-Beacom. Riiff, a 5-2 freshman forward from Clementon, NJ, had five points for the week and assisted on both goals in a 2-1 win over Wilmington.

Honorable Mention

Kate Attenberger, Goldey-Beacom (Jr., M, 5-5, Newark, DE) - Posted two goals and one assist in two games.

Kristee Paknis, Caldwell (Sr., F, 5-7, Whiting, NJ) - Scored one goal and two assists in a 1-1 week.

Rebecca Kennedy, Philadelphia (Sr., M, 5-7, Forest Lake, MN) - Scored her team's lone goal in a tie vs. GCU and assisted vs. Bloomfield.

CACC Notes

Caldwell - The Cougars split a pair of conference games last week, losing 2-1 in double overtime at Post on Wednesday and defeating Chestnut Hill 3-1 at home on Saturday. Senior forward Kristee Paknis had a goal and an assist against Chestnut Hill. Freshman defender Nikki D'Orsaneo scored her first goal as a Cougar in the loss to Post. She also had an assist against Chestnut Hill, setting up freshman midfielder Cecilia Westerberg for her first collegiate goal. Caldwell plays its final regular-season conference game on Monday, Oct. 27 against Nyack.

Felician - Sophomore F D.J. Jacobowitz has 15 goals and five assists in her last eight games. She has seven multi-goal games this season. With the game-winning goal in the closing minutes against Mercy on Thursday, she broke the school records for goals and points in a season that Sandi King (16, 37) had held since Felician's inaugural campaign of 1998. The Golden Falcons finished 7-2 at home in 2008.

Georgian Court - The Lions are now undefeated (7-0-4) in their last 11 contests.

Philadelphia - With the tie vs. Georgian Court, the Lady Rams have clinched at least a share of the CACC regular-season title. Sophomore Natalie Vespe has a team-leading 11 points (adding a goal vs. Bloomfield last week) and senior keeper Sara Hall made a diving save vs. GCU with 30 seconds left to keep the game tied.

Post - The Lady Eagles have won three of their last four CACC matches to lift themselves within one game of their 3rd consecutive CACC playoff berth with two games to play.
