NEW HAVEN, CT - Georgian Court's Lindsay Hammond has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 9. Fellow Lion Candace Seaton was selected Rookie of the Week.
Hammond, a junior goal keeper from Brunswick, ME, registered three shutouts to lead the Lions to the CACC Tournament Championship last week. She came up with 26 saves in the three games, including a CACC-record 16 in a 1-0 championship game victory over Philadelphia.
Seaton, a freshman forward from Bellport, NY, posted one goal and two assists in three CACC Tournament games last week. She dished out two assists in the quarter-finals against Post and scored the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Holy Family in the semi-finals.
Honorable Mention
Brianna Reinford, Philadelphia (Sr., F, Gilbertsville, PA) - Scored two goals in the CACC Tournament and was named to the All-Tournament team.
CACC Notes
Felician - Felician has qualified for the ECAC D-II Tournament for the first time. The Golden Falcons will play Molloy College in first-round action on Wednesday. Felician won a regular-season meeting between the schools, 5-2.
Georgian Court - Georgian Court remains undefeated in their last 15 contests (10-0-5). The Lions' CACC title was their first since 2002.
Philadelphia - The Lady Rams willed their way to the CACC
Championship game with a 3-2 win over Dominican and a 1-0 victory
over Caldwell last week. Although the championship game did not
turn out the way PhilaU might have liked, as a 1-0 loss to GCU came
on an own-goal by the Lady Rams, it was the team's first loss since
October 1st. CACC All-Tournament players included seniors Brianna
Reinford and Christy Bauckman, along with sophomore Sara Redka.
