TOP SEEDS ADVANCE IN CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER TOURNAMENT

NEW HAVEN, CT – The top four seeds of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Soccer Tournament all advanced to the semi-final round with victories in today’s quarter-finals. Top-seeded Philadelphia got past a tough No. 8 Dominican squad, 3-2, while No. 2 Georgian Court defeated No. 7 Post, 3-0. No. 3 Holy Family had little trouble with No. 6 Felician, 8-0, while No. 4 Caldwell squeaked past No. 5 Nyack on a goal in the 81st minute to earn a 1-0 triumph.

Philadelphia will face Caldwell in the first semi-final match on Wednesday at 12:00 pm at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School, while Georgian Court will play defending tournament champion Holy Family at 2:30 pm.

Dominican jumped ahead of Philadelphia in today’s match with two goals from junior Margaret Porter in the first half as the Chargers went into halftime with a 2-1 lead. Senior Brianna Reinford chipped in the game-winner at 59:13 with the assist coming from the foot of junior Jill Sokolski.
