first-place votes and 138 overall points, while Philadelphia picked
up 136 points and five first-place nods. Georgian Court University finished third in the poll for the second consecutive season with 116 points after finishing 14-9 overall last season and 9-2 in conference action. Wilmington University was fourth with 107 points after a 7-4 finish in conference play and a 14-6-2 overall mark. Dominican College, which went 8-9-2 overall and 6-4-1 in the CACC last year, rounded out the top five with 86 points. Caldwell College was chosen sixth with 81 points and Nyack College was seventh with 71. Concluding the poll was Post University, Felician College, Bloomfield College, Goldey-Beacom College and Chestnut Hill College. Holy Family is the defending CACC Tournament Champion after upending Philadelphia, 1-0, in the 2007 championship game. The Tigers were also the CACC regular-season champs after going 11-0 in conference action. The squad went 14-8 overall and earned the CACC's automatic berth into the NCAA Regional Tournament. The Tigers welcome back seven starters and 16 letter winners from last year's team, including two first team All-CACC performers in senior forward Kaitlin Gavaghan and junior midfielder Ashley Antczak. Philadelphia returns seven starters including senior goalie Sara Hall and senior midfielder Brianna Reinford, who were both first team All-CACC selections last season. Hall, who was also a first team All-Conference pick in 2006, led the league with a 0.86 goals-against average and nine shutouts last season. The Lady Rams went 10-1 in conference play and 15-7 overall for the season. Georgian Court is coming off a program-record 14-win season and returns seven starters, including second team All-CACC goalkeeper Lindsay Hammond. Hammond finished among the top-3 in the CACC in wins, save percentage, shutouts and goals-against average. Wilmington lost 2007 CACC Player of the Year Begum Malali to graduation, but returns seven starters. Highlighting the returning players is 2007 CACC Rookie of the Year, Kirsten Stallone. The forward made an immediate impact last season and tied for second in the conference with 36 points (12 goals, 12 assists). Stallone tied for the league lead in assists (12) with classmate Ashli Gerlach. The complete 2008 CACC women's soccer preseason poll is below.
