EIGHT CACC WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYERS NAMED TO DAKTRONICS ALL-REGION TEAM

NEW HAVEN, CT - Eight women's soccer players from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) have been honored as Daktronics All-East Region selections, including four first team members. The team was voted upon by the sports information directors in the region, which includes the CACC, East Coast Conference and Northeast-10 Conference.
First team All-Region selections from the CACC include Georgian Court senior defender Katherine Gooch and freshman forward Kelly Lyons, Holy Family senior midfielder Jamie-Lynn Wallace and Caldwell senior forward Kristee Paknis. Second team picks were Holy Family senior defender Calli Nagle and senior midfielder Kaitlin Gavaghan and Philadelphia sophomore midfielder Natalie Vespe and senior goalie Sara Hall.
Hall was named the CACC Player of the Year and her Lady Rams clinched the CACC regular-season championship, advanced to the CACC Tournament championship game and will be playing in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) championship game on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
Lyons is currently the leading point and goal scorer in the CACC with 48 points and 22 goals, respectively, this season. She was named the CACC Rookie of the Year on Nov. 3 and she was also a first team All-CACC pick.
Gooch, Paknis, Wallace, Nagle and Gavaghan were first team All-CACC selections this season, while Vespe was an honorable mention. Wallace ranks third in the CACC in points with 38 (18 goals, two assists), while Paknis is tied for ninth with 30 points (12 goals, six assists).
Angelika Johannson of Franklin Pierce University was named the East Region Player of the Year.
