2007 CACC Women's Soccer Weekly Award Winners

September 4

Player of the Week: Begum Malali, Wilmington (Sr., F, Galloway, NJ) - Malali notched 11 points as Wilmington went 3-0 last week. She registered four goals and three assists, scoring three of those goals against Concordia. She also assisted on the only goal in a 1-0 win over NYIT.

Rookie of the Week: Kirsten Stallone, Wilmington (Fr., F, Elkton, MD) - Tallied 11 points last week with four goals and three assists. She scored four goals along with one assist in a victory over Saint Thomas Aquinas and provided two assists against Concordia.

September 10

Player of the Week: Marie LaMaida, Dominican (Jr., F, New Hyde Park, NY) - LaMaida netted four goals in a 2-1 week for the Chargers. Scored three goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-3 win over Wilmington. She got off eight shots and six shots-on-goal in the match.

Rookie of the Week: Melissa Torzewski, Bloomfield (Fr., F, Glen Garden, NJ) - Recorded three goals in a 7-0 win over Concordia. She became the second Bloomfield player to notch a hat trick this season.

September 17

Player of the Week: Sara Hall, Philadelphia (Jr., GK, Newark, DE) -Registered 19 total saves and allowed only two goals in a 2-1 week for the Lady Rams. Posted shutouts against Georgian Court (2-0) and Southern New Hampshire (2-0).

Rookie of the Week: Ashli Gerlach, Wilmington (Fr., F, Red Lion, PA) - Scored two goals and also dished out two assists in a victory over Chestnut Hill for a total of six points for the week.

September 24

Player of the Week: Begum Malali, Wilmington (Sr., F, Galloway, NJ) - Posted 12 total points last week after scoring five goals and adding two assists. She had two goals and one assist against Nyack and added one goal and one assist at Goldey-Beacom, both CACC victories.

Rookie of the Week: Ashli Gerlach, Wilmington (Fr., F, Red Lion, PA) - Recorded eight points on the week with two goals and four assists. She notched one goal and three assists in a conference victory at Nyack.

October 1

Player of the Week: Brianna Reinford, Philadelphia (Sr., M/F, Gilbertsville, PA) - Registered three goals and one assist for seven total points in a 2-0 week. Netted the game-winning goal against Nyack and scored two goals, along with one assist, in a 6-0 win at Chestnut Hill.

Rookie of the Week: Lauren Hoenig, Caldwell (Fr., GK, Howell, NJ) -Stopped a total of 27 shots and allowed only one goal in a 1-1 week for the Cougars. She made a career-high 23 saves in a tough 1-0 loss at Georgian Court. She followed with a shutout against Goldey-Beacom.

October 8

Player of the Week: Nicole Keiser, Nyack (Sr., M, Forked River, NJ) - Tallied four goals and two assists in a 3-0 week for the Warriors. Scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Queens and had a hat-trick against SUNY Maritime.

Rookie of the Week: Alisha Smith, Nyack (Fr., F, Irvine, CA) - Scored two game-winning goals for the week, against SUNY Maritime and Chestnut Hill. She tallied five goals and two assists in three games.

October 15

Player of the Week: Angela Correia, Dominican (Jr., F, Elizabeth, NJ) - Scored three goals and added one assist in a 2-0 week for the Lady Chargers. She had two goals and an assist against Bloomfield and scored once at Goldey-Beacom.

Rookie of the Week: Amy Van Blarcom, Georgian Court (Fr., F, Glen Rock, NJ) - Registered three goals and one assist in two games for the Lions. Netted her second hat trick of the season at Goldey-Beacom and assisted on the game-winner against Queens.

October 22

Player of the Week: Brianna Reinford, Philadelphia (Sr., M/F, Gilbertsville, PA) - Lifted the Lady Rams to a key CACC win when she converted a penalty kick in double overtime against Wilmington. She finished the week with two goals at Felician.

Co-Rookies of the Week: Kelsey Marvill, Holy Family (Fr., F, Quakertown, PA) and Susan Curran, Post (Fr., F, New Milford, CT) - Marvill tallied three goals on the week for the Tigers. She netted two goals in a 3-1 win over Caldwell and scored once in a win against Goldey-Beacom.

Curran also scored three goals in two games played. She found the back of the net twice against Nyack and added one goal at Caldwell.

October 29

Player of the Week: Calli Nagle, Holy Family (Jr., M, Philadelphia, PA) - Tallied both of Holy Family's goals in a 2-1 victory over Philadelphia that clinched the CACC regular-season championship for the Tigers. She scored in the 46th and 80th minutes.

Rookie of the Week: Amy Van Blarcom, Georgian Court (Fr., F, Glen Rock, NJ) - Scored her sixth game-winning goal of the season in an important 2-1 victory over Wilmington on Monday. The Lions captured the No. 3 seed for the CACC Tournament with the win.

November 5

Player of the Week: Kelly McGrogan, Holy Family (Sr., GK, Philadelphia, PA) - Was named Most Valuable Player of the CACC Tournament after recording three shutouts in three games. She came up with a total of 14 saves in the tournament.

Rookie of the Week: Sara Redka, Philadelphia (Fr., M, Williamsport, PA) - Scored two goals and one assist in three CACC Tournament contests. She scored two goals in a seven minute span in a 3-0 semifinal victory over Georgian Court.
