Chestnut Hill Tabs Chelsea Rosiek as New Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

Philadelphia, Pa. – (June 28, 2012) – Former Temple University lacrosse standout Chelsea Rosiek has been tabbed as the next head coach to lead the Chestnut Hill women's lacrosse program. A two-time all Atlantic 10 performer, Rosiek brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Griffin sidelines.

A local product of Wissahickon High School, Rosiek filled several coaching positions in the Philadelphia area following her stellar playing career at Temple University. In 2012, she coached her high school alma mater to an 11-8 record, while also serving as an assistant coach for Haverford College. Rosiek was an assistant coach at Wissahickon High School in 2011 while also directing the Trojans junior varsity squad and the Wisslax A-Team, a non-profit community based lacrosse program.
She accrued additional coaching experience as a coach for Ultimate Goal. With Ultimate Goal's 2012 Team, Rosiek developed and prepared several high school student-athletes for national tournaments and college recruitment at the Division I, II, and III levels. She has been selected as Ultimate Goal's Blue Team Head Coach for 2015. Rosiek's earliest coaching experience stems from her years as a camp counselor at Sumer's Best Two Weeks Camp, 2009, and as a member of the International Coaching Program (ICP), 2010, where she served as a United States ambassador at the Berlin Open and the Prague Cup.
As a senior Owl, Rosiek led the 2010 Temple University women's lacrosse team to a 7-10 overall record with 26 goals and 29 assists (55 points). She led the Atlantic 10 in assists-per-game (1.71) and finished second in draw controls-per-game (3.41) after pairing 58 draw controls (9th in NCAA DI) with 23 ground ball recoveries. Rosiek recorded three goals and five assists in the Owls narrow 15-13 loss to top-seeded, Richmond University in the Atlantic 10 Semifinals (4/23/10). For her efforts she was awarded with an All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection.
Rosiek amassed 133 points (72 goals and 61 assists) in her collegiate career, which also included an All-Atlantic 10 Second Team selection in 2008 (27 goals and 16 assists, 43 points) and Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team selections in 2008 and 2010. She currently holds rank in five all-time stat categories including, assists (7th, 61), draws (7th, 96), single-season assists (T3rd, 29), single-season draws (2nd, 58), and single-game assists (T2nd, 5 vs. Richmond University on 4/23/10).
Rosiek was a top performer in the classroom as well. She was a member of the 2010 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Academic Honor Rolls, she is a four-time member of the Temple University Athletic Director's Honor Roll (2006-2010), a three-time member of the Dean's List (2008-2010), and a two-time member of the President's Honor Roll (2009-2010).
