Georgian Court's Rotunno and Wilmington's Keffer Claim CACC Weekly Lacrosse Honors

 

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 10, 2012) - Georgian Court's Olivia Rotunno (Jackson, N.J.) has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending April 8.  Wilmington's Megan Keffer (Wilmington, Del.) was chosen as the league's rookie of the week.

Olivia Rotunno, Georgian Court (Jr., D, Jackson, N.J.)

Posted a CACC-best team-best 15 goals over three games last week, including a Georgian Court single-game record nine tallies in 26-20 win over Philadelphia (4/5).  Notched six goals in win over Wilmington (4/3).  Needed just 21 shots to secure her 15 goals for a 71.4 shooting percentage.

Megan Keffer, Wilmington (Fr., M, 5-6, Wilmington, Del.)
Came off the bench to score three goals on just four shots in overtime loss to CACC-leading Georgian Court (4/3).  Was successful on her only free position shot vs. Lions, while also picking up two ground balls and earning four draw controls. Also a factor defensively with two turnovers forced.

 

 

CACC Women's Lacrosse Team Notes

Chestnut Hill - The Griffins picked up their second CACC win of the season by completing their season sweep of Post University with a 17-4 home victory on Thursday, April 5.

 

Dominican - The Lady Chargers went 0-1 last week as they fell in triple overtime to Holy Family University.

 

Wilmington - Wilmington dropped its only contest last week, a heartbreaking 16-14 loss to CACC leading Georgian Court in overtime. The Wildcats held a 13-9 lead with 18 minutes to play before GCU scored the final four goals of regulation to force overtime. The teams were tied after the first 3-minute session, but the Lions tallied two goals in the second 3-minute session for the comeback win. Jaclyn Hall led the 'Cats with four goals and an assist while Megan Keffer also picked up a hat trick off the bench in the game. Liz Case tallied two goals and two assists, while goalkeeper Kaitlyn Hall made seven saves in goal. The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday after an eight-day layoff to play Chestnut Hill and play Post on Saturday.
