SHAPPELL CLAIMS PLAYER OF WEEK STATUS FOR WOMEN'S LACROSSE

NEW HAVEN, Conn., - Caribeth Shappell of Philadelphia University has claimed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week status for the week ending Sunday, March 28. Georgian Court University's Samantha Shaw was the pick for Rookie of the Week.
Shappell, a 5-4 midfielder from Lancaster, Pa., led
Philadelphia to a 2-0 week with six goals
and five assists for 11 total points. She registered five goals and
two assists in a win over Holy Family and came up with five draws
and five caused turnovers for the week.
Shaw, a 5-9 freshman attack from Howell, N.J., scored the first three goals of her career in Thursday’s victory over Post University. She scored the three goals on three shots and also picked up a ground ball.
Honorable Mention
Jillian Hadfield, Georgian Court (Sr., A, 5-4, Jackson, NJ) - Scored five goals and four assists in a 2-0 week.
Carley Glass, Chestnut Hill (Sr., M, Swedesboro, NJ) - Tallied five goals and three assists in a loss to Dominican.
Silje Karlsen, Dominican (Jr., M, 5-5, Vernon, NJ) - Registered 10 goals and one assist in a 1-2 week for the Lady Chargers.
Katherine Podlinski, Holy Family (So., M, 5-10, Cherry Hill, NJ) - Notched six goals and one assist in two contests last week.
CACC Notes
Chestnut Hill - Senior midfielder Carley Glass (Swedesboro, NJ) became the fourth Griffin to eclipse the 100 career-goal milestone, doing so with her second goal against Dominican College on 3/27. She totaled five goals and three assists in the affair. Glass is also Chestnut Hill College all-time assist leader with 87 in her career.
Dominican - The Lady Chargers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 13-12 victory over Chestnut Hill on Saturday. Sophomore Aubree Williams netted the game-winning goal with 18 seconds remaining in the game.
Georgian Court - The Lions play three CACC contests this week (3/30 at Philadelphia; 4/1 at Holy Family; 4/3 vs. Chestnut Hill). GCU had seven different players register multi-goal games in Thursday’s 24-2 defeat of Post, including four each from juniors Daryl Carr and Lauren Conaty.
Holy Family - Holy Family went 1-1 last week and is now 2-3 overall and 2-1 in the CACC. The week opened with an 11-10 victory over Dominican. Midfielder Katherine Podlinski led the offense with three goals and one assist in the win. On Saturday, Holy Family suffered a 17-8 defeat to Philadelphia. Again, Podlinski was the top scorer with three goals. Holy Family’s game against Chestnut Hill on Monday was postponed. Holy Family will take on Wilmington on Tuesday, Georgian Court on Thursday and Queens on Saturday.
Philadelphia - The team improved their CACC record to 3-0 this week, picking up wins over Dominican and Holy Family. Caribeth Shappell led the Lady Rams with 11 points on the week, while sophomore Taylor Peltzer added eight. So far this season, the team is outscoring opponents 51-14. Senior goalie Kat Sullivan added 14 saves and currently boasts a .500 saves percentage this season.
