SHAPPELL CHOSEN PLAYER OF WEEK FOR WOMEN'S LACROSSE

NEW HAVEN, CT - Caribeth Shappell of Philadelphia University has been chosen Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 26. Shappell helped lead Philadelphia to the CACC Women's Lacrosse Championship on Sunday.

Shappell, a freshman midfielder from Lancaster, PA, was named MVP of the CACC Tournament after helping Philadelphia win the Championship. She recorded three goals in both CACC Tournament games and added four assists, with three coming in the semi-final victory over Chestnut Hill. She also caused six turnovers on the week.

Honorable Mention

Taylor Peltzer, Philadelphia (Fr., A, Holland, PA) - Recorded eight goals and three assists on the week. Netted three goals in the CACC Championship game victory over GCU.

Natalie Bermudez, Georgian Court (Jr., M, Toms River, NJ) - Registered nine goals and two assists in three games last week and helped lead GCU to the CACC Tournament championship game.

Katie Donovan, Chestnut Hill (Sr., A, Conshohocken, PA) - Scored 11 goals and added two assists last week.
