SHERMAN TABBED AS WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH AT CHESTNUT HILL

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Lauren Sherman takes over the sidelines and head coaching responsibilities for the Chestnut Hill College women's lacrosse program prior to the 2009 season. Coach Sherman was a four-year starter for Marist College at the NCAA Division I level. In 2006, she was the head coach for Penncrest High School's junior varsity team and an assistant for the varsity squad.
During her years at Marist College (2002-2005), Sherman established herself a true scholar-athlete. She completed her collegiate career among the top ten on three all-time lists for the Red Foxes. Sherman currently sits fifth in scoring (94 points), fourth in assists (41), and second in games played (63). Meanwhile, she also found success in the classroom, earning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic honors and Dean's List status in each of her four years.
Coach Sherman was a three-time team Most Valuable Player for Penncrest High School and was an All-Delco selection in her senior year (2001). That summer, she also led the Mid-Atlantic 6 to a United States Lacrosse Division II National Championship and coached at the Keystone State Games.
Coach Sherman graduated cum laude from Marist earning a bachelor's degree in communications with minors in psychology and global studies. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports and recreation management from Temple University and lives in Philadelphia.
